Moniteau Grad DeMatteis Earns PSAC Weekly Softball Honors for Gannon

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Moniteau graduate and Gannon University senior Kennedy DeMatteis has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in her career, the league office announced Monday afternoon.


DeMatteis guided Gannon to two road wins over Slippery Rock and logged back-to-back complete games in the circle for the first time this season with a 0.00 ERA. The Boyers, Pa. native tossed eight strikeouts and held opposing batters to a .146 batting average over 14.0 total innings of work.

In game one against Slippery Rock, DeMatteis tossed four strikeouts and limited The Rock to a season-low three hits in the 5-0 win. It marked her first shutout performance of the season and fifth of her career. DeMatteis has registered seven complete games this season to increase her career total to 33.
