WARREN, Pa. – McDowell was facing a St. Francis (NY) in Week 10 that knocked off Cathedral Prep 28-26 on Sept. 23, the same Prep team that would beat the Trojans 41-0 a week later – but Artis Simmons and company turned in a big-time performance in beating St. Francis 42-28 in their final game of the regular season.

Simmons rushed 27 times for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, a performance that earns him the Week 10 2022 YDL Sports Network D9and10sports.com District 10 Jim Kelly Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Also in the win for McDowell, Ben Moore threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Ray Jackson and Christian Santiago, with Jackson also notching an interception on defense.

Over at Girard, Eisenhower’s Caleb Penley and Tucker Lindell both had fourth-quarter interceptions and Benji Bauer had 138 yards rushing, including a 30-yard touchdown run to help Ike seal the win. The win gave the Knights a perfect regular season at 10-0, the only team in District 10 with an unbeaten record in the regular season.

Those players are joined on the Honor Roll by Sharpsville’s Garen Levis (136 yards receiving, 2 TDs, INT return for touchdown) and Caullin Summers (225 yards, passing, 3 TDs), Mercyhurst Prep’s David Bahm (173 yards passing, 2 TDs) and Sean Sokolowski (10 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack), Northwestern’s Landon Wayne (Game-winning 5-yard TD run against Fairview), Cathedral Prep’s Dajoure Hollingsworth (146 rushing, 4 TDs), Lakeview’s Mitchell Tingley (119 yards rushing, 51 yards receiving), Greenville’s Nick Solderich (85 yards passing, 2 TDs, 63 yards rushing), Reynolds’ Jalen Wagner (207 yards rushing, 2 TDs) and Brayden McCloskey (game-winning 6-yard TD run vs. North East), Cambridge Springs’ Van Jones (203 yards rushing, 3 TDs), Meadville’s Khalon Simmons (127 yards rushing, 2 TDs, 89 yards passing, 2 TDs) and Brady Walker (144 yards rushing, TD).
