NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Baylee Blauser put forth one of the best jumps in Pennsylvania this season when she won the long jump at the Redbank Valley/A-C Valley dual meet Thursday in New Bethlehem with a leap of 18-feet, 3 ½-inches.
Blauser’s leap is the best leap in Pennsylvania by a Class 2A athlete this season per the latest honor roll by pa.milesplit.com and one of the top jumps regardless of classification.
She also won the triple jump with a leap of 36-feet, 1 ½-inches, which would be the fifth-best jump in Class 2A in the latest honor roll numbers.
Blauser wasn’t the only jumper putting on a show in New Bethlehem Thursday.
Joe Mansfield of Redbank Valley won the boys’ triple jump with a leap of 43-feet, 6 ½-inches, which is the fourth-best in the state in the latest Class 2A rankings just behind Cranberry’s Cam Russell, who is third with a leap of 43-feet, 7 ½-inches.
Tanner Merwin out jumped Mansfield to win the long jump going 20-feet, 9-inches to Mansfield’s 19-feet, 9-inches.
Redbank Valley won both meets taking the boys’ meet, 105-41, and the girls’ meet, 112-33.
