SAEGERTOWN 6, COCHRANTON 0

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Henry Shaffer turned in a dominant effort, striking out 16 batters over six shutout innings in Saegertown’s 6-0 over Cochranton.

Shaffer allowed just three hits and one walk, with Landon Caldwell tossing a scoreless seventh with a pair of strikeouts.

Shaffer also had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Dylan Flinchbaugh was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Zach Balog also drove in a run.

   

                  

Wyatt Barzak suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in five innings, striking out seven.

FRANKLIN 12, GIRARD 0, 5 INNINGS

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Noah Kockler allowed just two hits over five innings, and Carson Wible was a double away from the cycle as Franklin topped visiting Girard, 12-0, in five innings.

Wible was 3-3 from the plate with a triple and a 2-run home run. He drove in three and scored twice. Luke Guth also had a 3-hit day with a double and two runs scored. Aidan McCracken, Alex Wible, and Cole Harmon each had two RBIs.

Kockler scattered two hits and two walks over his five shutout innings and struck out four.

                          

ROCKY GROVE 11, EISENHOWER 1, 6 INNINGS

RUSSELL, Pa. – Aaron Burkhardt threw six solid innings and Rocky Grove took advantage of four Eisenhower errors in an 11-1, 6-inning win.

Burkhardt allowed just three hits and one earned run with four walks and eight strikeouts in the win.

Reese Henderson and Aaron Wetjen each had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Orioles’ attack.

               

Brok English had two of the three Knights’ hits.

Garrett Jensen took the loss allowing eight runs, two earned, on eight hits and two walks in four innings. Spencer Wynn allowed three unearned runs on five hits and a walk in two innings.

MERCER 7, REYNOLDS 3

MERCER, Pa. – A 4-run sixth inning propelled Mercer to a 7-3 win over visiting Reynolds.

The Raiders had tied the game at 3-3 with a 3-spot in the fifth, but the Mustangs registered three hits and drew three walks with two outs in the sixth to take the lead for good.

Ayden Ryhal had three hits and scored twice, while Troy Bachman had a pair of hits for Mercer.

Jake Mattocks got the win allowing three runs, two earned, in three innings. He didn’t allow a hit, but walked three and struck out five. Julian Lawrence allowed four hits and issued a walk while striking out five in four scoreless innings.

Cameron Buckley had two hits for the Raiders, and also took the loss allowing four earned runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts in two innings. Hayden Calenda allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 3 ⅔ innings.

MCDOWELL 13, FORT LEBOEUF 3, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Dan Snyder, Jake Banks, and Matt Demski drove in two runs each as McDowell earned a 13-3, five-inning win over Fort LeBoeuf.

            

Fort LeBoeuf cut the lead to 5-3 in the top of the fourth, but McDowell struck for four runs in the bottom half of the frame to make it 10-3.

Spencer Dietz was 2-for-2 with two walks and four runs for the Trojans, while Banks finished 4-for-4 with two runs and Demski and Snyder two hits each.

Isaak Ogrodowczyk got the win, allowing three unearned runs in five innings on three hits.

Aiden Lesik was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs for LeBoeuf. Lesik took the loss, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) in four innings.

SLIPPERY ROCK 15, SHARON 0, 3 innings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock scored 11 runs in the second inning en route to a 15-0, three-inning win over Sharon.

Brett Galcik went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs, and two runs, as the Rockets had eight extra-base hits.

Also for the Rockets, Ethan Drushel was 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, Nick Kingerski 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs, Shane Thompson 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, Sal Mineo 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and Walker Vogan two RBIs.

Dylan Gordon fired three shutout innings, striking out two and allowing two hits.

Jason Stanek took the loss, allowing nine runs in one-plus inning of work.

GROVE CITY 15, MEADVILLE 4, 5 innings

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City scored 11 runs in the first inning to beat Meadville, 15-4 in five innings.

Landon Haggart belted a two-run home run for Grove City, while Hayden McCreadie was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, Kamden Martin 2-for-4 with two RBIs, John Hake 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Luke Tubbs 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Coldan Barr 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.

Dylan McEhlinney got the win, allowing two runs in three innings with seven strikeouts.

Gavin Beck and Brady Walker were each 2-for-3 with an RBI for Meadville.

Mason Walker took the loss, allowing four runs in 3 ⅔ innings on eight hits, striking out six.

IROQUOIS 6, MAPLEWOOD 4

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Iroquois built a 6-1 lead on its way to a 6-4 win over Maplewood.

Reilly Brown went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Iroquois, while Gavin Lewis was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.

Ben Burkhardt got the win, allowing one unearned run in 5 ⅔ innings, allowing three hits, and striking out eight.

Noah Burk went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Jacob Woge was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Levi Willison was the losing pitcher, allowing five runs in five innings on four hits and three walks, striking out seven.

WEST MIDDLESEX 13, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 2, 5 innings

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – A 10-run fourth inning helped West Middlesex to a 13-2, five-inning win over Conneaut (Ohio).

Devin Gruver belted a three-run home run in the first inning for the Big Reds to get the scoring going.

Gio Rococi was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Big Reds, while Hunter Hoffman was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, Kyle Hurley 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Eric Nehlen 1-for3 with two RBIs, and Evan Gilson 2-for-3 with an RBI.
