MONITEAU 4, A-C VALLEY 3

EMLENTON, Pa. – A wild pitch with two outs in the top of the sixth scored Tanner Williams, and Moniteau beat A-C Valley, 4-3.

It was a pitcher’s duel between Branson Carson and Gary Amsler.

Carson got the win going six innings allowing three earned runs on six hits and a hit batter while striking out 15. Brock Matthews picked up the save throwing a scoreless seventh striking out two.

   

                  

Amsler didn’t figure in the decision.

He went 5 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and six walks while striking out five. Broc Weigle took the loss throwing an inning and a third allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out two. Alex Preston walked a batter in his third of an inning.

Keagan Book led the Moniteau offense going 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Williams was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and two runs scored.

Weigle hit a two-run home run in the first for A-C Valley giving the Falcons an early 2-0 lead. He was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Ryan Cooper was 2-for-4 as well with a run scored.

REDBANK VALLEY 6, KARNS CITY 3

                          

BUTLER, Pa. – Bryson Bain’s two-run double highlighted a three-run second inning for Redbank Valley in a 6-3 road win over Karns City at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park.

Bain had a pair of doubles on the day and was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Hudson Martz also went 2-for-4 with three runs scored for the Bulldogs, Ty Hetrick was 2-for-4, and Peyton Rearick scored twice.

Braeden Rodgers was 2-for-4 with a run scored for Karns City with Michael Neff going 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

               

Cam Wagner got the win going six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and a hit batter while striking out five. Tate Minich got the save going one scoreless inning allowing two hits and striking out one.

Neff took the loss going six innings allowing six runs, one earned, on nine hits and a walk while striking out five. Wyatt Fleming pitched a scoreless inning of relief giving up a hit and striking out one.

ST. MARYS 6, BRADFORD 0

BRADFORD, PA. – Alex Vollmer needed just 81 pitches to throw a five-hit shutout, as visiting St. Marys blanked Bradford, 6-0.

Vollmer struck out 10 and walked three.

Tony Lewis led the offensive charge for the Dutch going 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs. Logan Bauer was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Logan Mosier was 1-for-3 with a triple, two walks, and two runs scored.

Cam Austin took the loss going 5 ⅓ innings allowing two earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven. Mike Greenberg was tagged for four runs, two earned, on a hit and three walks while striking out one in an inning of work, and Levi Reed got to outs allowing a hit and a walk and striking out one.

CURWENSVILLE 9, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 4

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Jake Mullins went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs and pitched well to help visiting Curwensville defeat Elk County Catholic, 9-4, at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

Mullins went six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks while striking out seven.

            

Keegan Wilson was also 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scoffed, and an RBI for the Golden Tide, while Spencer Hoover went 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Thad Butler was 1-for-5 with two runs scored.

Dominic Zambonini was 1-for-4 with two RBIs for ECC, Jordan DePrator went 2-for-2 with two doubles, a walk, and an RBI, and Tommy Slay scored two runs.

Jake McCracken pitched an inning for Curwensville giving up an unearned run on a hit while striking out one.

David Anderson took the loss pitching 5 ⅔ innings allowing nine runs, two earned, on 10 hits and three walks while striking out four. Luke Ginter got four outs, one by strikeout, and walked three.

HUNTINGDON 6, CLEARFIELD 4

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Clearfield scored three times in the top of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate, but it wasn’t enough as the Bison dropped a 6-4 decision to Huntingdon.

Nick Domico hit a three-run home run in the seventh with no one out, and Cole Bloom had a two-out single to bring the tying run to the plate. But Kyle Elensky grounded out to end the game.

Brady Handy had a double and three RBIs for the Bearcats, while Ryan Hack went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Blake Pretash had a pair of doubles for Clearfield going 2-for-4 with a run scored with Hunter Dixon going 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Hack got the win in relief of Ashton Steele going three innings plus allowing four runs, three earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out two. Josh Bryson picked up the save going an inning allowing a hit and striking out two. Steele pitched three scoreless inning giving up three hits and three walks.

Elensky took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out one. Ryan Gearhart pitched an inning and a third walking one and striking out one. Nolan Barr retired the only batter he faced.

KEYSTONE 17, FOREST AREA 10

TIONESTA, Pa. – Ian Keth, Aidan Sell, and Tye Elder each had four hits to lead Keystone to a 17-10 win over Forest Area at West Forest.

Aidan Sell was 4-for-6 with two doubles, three RBIs, and four runs scored,Eder was 4-for-5 with a triple, a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored, and Keth was 4-for-5 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Also for the Panthers, Logan Sell went 2-for-6 with a triple, an RBI, and four runs scored, and Cole Henry was 1-for-6 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Aidan Hartle and Zeelan Hargenrader each went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored.

Nate Gutonski got the win in relief of Elder. He went four innings allowing six runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out four. Elder went three innings giving up four runs, two earned, on two hits and four walks while striking out four.

Matt Schmader took the loss going 5 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, four earned, on 11 hits while striking out four. Josh Daum pitched an inning allowing six runs, three earned, on three hits and a walk. Harlte allowed five unearned runs on three hits with a strikeout in a ⅓ of an inning, and Isaac Gilara got one out walking one and striking out one.

COUDERSPORT 13, SMETHPORT 2

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Jackson Glover, AJ Redmond and Ashton Huck each had three hits to lead Coudersport to a 13-2 win at Smethport.

Glover was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while Redmond was 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, and Huck was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Garrett Kellert added a 2-for-5 day with two runs scored for the Falcons with Derek Easton going 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Gavyn Ayers was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs.
