IUP defeats Virginia Union, 60-45
A second-half defensive clinic pushed IUP past Virginia Union and into Tuesday’s Atlantic Regional Final. The Hawks held Virginia Union to just 25% shooting for the game and 21.2% (7-33) in the second half, while also going on a 12-minute 23-0 run in the second period to hold the Panthers off for good. Of the Hawks, three scored in double digits. Dave Morris tallied 16 points and three rebounds, Shawndale Jones 12 points and four boards, and Jaylen Stewart put in 10 points and six rebounds. The Hawks will make their second straight Atlantic Regional Final appearance on Tuesday against No. 2 West Liberty.

West Liberty defeats Mercyhurst, 86-72
After a close first period that only held a three-point difference at the break, West Liberty pulled away in the second to defeat Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Region semifinals. The Hilltoppers put together their fifth straight game above 50% from the floor to go up by double digits over the Lakers in the second period–a deficit they would not be able to overcome by the end of regulation. In the loss, Michael Bradley led the team in points with 20 on a 6-12 line from the floor while going 6-7 from the foul line, and Pip Ajayai got his second double-double of the season with a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with 10 points and two blocks.
