Maplewood, Oswayo Valley, Cochranton, North East, Warren, DuBois Each Have Multiple Players Named PAVCA All-State

Led by three players each from PIAA Class 1A champion Maplewood, District 9 champion Class 1A champion Oswayo Valley, and District 10 Class 1A runner-up Cochranton, 24 District 9 and District 10 players were named All-State in volleyball by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association.

Twelve players earned Class 1A honors, six players earned Class 2A honors, and six players earned Class 3A honors.

For PIAA champion Maplewood, seniors Sadie Thomas (OH), Bailey Varndell (S), and McKenna Crawford (LB) were named Class 1A All-State.

District 9 champion Oswayo Valley, which lost to Maplewood in the PIAA semifinals had seniors Avaree Kellert (MH) and Trinity Lundy (S) as well as junior middle hitter Olivia Cook named Class 1A All-State.

Cochranton, which finished second in District 10 to Maplewood, had seniors Devyn Sokol (OPP), Dana Jackson (S), and Taytum Jackson (LB) named Class 1A All-State.

            

Joining those nine in earning All-State Class 1A honors from District 9 were Clarion senior outside hitter Aryana Girvan and Elk County Catholic junior outside hitter Tori Newton, while West Middlesex junior middle hitter Kennedy Beatty gave District 10 seven players on the Class 1A All-State squad.

District 10 champion North East led D9/D10 with a pair of Class 2A All-State players.

Representing the Grape Pickers were junior outside hitter Cadence Jones and junior setter Grace Sanfilippo.

Two additional District 10 players were named All-State including Corry senior Libero Tayler Eichynski and Mercyhurst Prep sophomore Addica Sperry.

                          

A pair of District 9 players also earned All-State honors including junior middle hitter/middle blocker of District 9 champion Kane and senior outside hitter Leah Exley of Keystone.

Warren and DuBois each had a pair of players named All-State in Class 3A.

For the D9 champion Beavers, junior right-side hitter Morgan Pasternak and senior outside hitter Jessica Pfaff earned the honors.

For Warren, junior middle hitter Kylie Fehlman and junior Libero Summer Lucks earned All-State.

Joining those four were Conneaut senior outside hitter Kaylee Mattera and Meadville sophomore outside hitter Emma Parks.
