Keystone Wins Wild 5-Set Match; C-L Claims KSAC Regular-Season Title; Sharon Outlasts Mercer (Oct. 5 VB Recaps)

KNOX, Pa. – In a wild affair in Knox, Keystone held off Moniteau, 3-2 (25-13, 23-25, 25-23, 21-25, 19-17) with a wild fifth-set victory.

Audrey Burrows led the Lady Panthers with 10 kills, 15 digs, and four aces with Ava Patrick adding five kills and seven blocks.

Gwyn Manno was stellar on defense for Keystone with 23 digs while also serving great with six aces.

Bryanna Mong ran the Keystone offense with 20 set assists.

               

Davina Pry, Marissa Pry, and Lily Staab each had eight kills for Moniteau with Davina adding four aces, four digs, and two blocks and Marissa contributing four blocks and an ace. Staab also had three digs and an ace.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 3, A-C VALLEY 0

FOXBURG, Pa. – Behind 12 kills and seven digs from Jenna Dunn, Clarion-Limestone secured the regular-season KSAC crown with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-12) win at A-C Valley.

With one conference match left Tuesday against Keystone, the Lady Lions secured the top seed in the upcoming inaugural KSAC volleyball tournament with the victory thanks to owning the tiebreaker over one-loss Clarion.

Maddy Greeley and Hannah Beggs each added eight kills for C-L with Beggs also recording a team-best 12 digs.

   

Kaylee Smith ran the offense for the Lady Lions with 29 set assists.

Bella Ielase and Hannah Ithen each had four kills for A-C Valley with Colleen Verostek adding eight digs and Lexi Altman six set assists.

CLARION 3, NORTH CLARION 0

CLARION, Pa. – On Pink Night at Clarion, the Lady Cats used a well-balanced offense to beat North Clarion, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-19).

Alicyn Burford led Clarion with seven kills, two aces, two digs, and a block. She was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Match.

Marley Kline added six kills, five digs, and two aces for Clarion with setter Addi Campbell chipping in four kills and two aces to go with five digs and 19 set assists.

                           

Anna O’Toole also had a nice night for the Lady Cats with three aces, three kills, and a team-best eight digs.

Mackenzie Lencer had four kills and an ace for North Clarion with Kyler Freeman adding three kills and an ace and Julia Daum and Alexa Carrll each chipping in three kills and a block.

SHARON, Pa. – Kylee Hasan had 10 kills and six digs to help Sharon hold off visiting Mercer, 3-2 (25-19, 25-17, 24-26, 19-25, 15-4).

           

Ondrea Young added eight kills with Amara Lopez adding six kills and Kaylee Schell, Victorya Byler, and Tay Chester each chipped in five kills.

Chester also had 18 digs and six aces, while Kylie Weirick added 14 digs and Cameryn Krecek nine digs.

Emmalie Yobe ran the offense for the Tigers with 33 set assists and completed a double-double with 15 digs.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 3, ST. MARYS 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Ciara Toven had 23 kills and three aces to lead Punxsutawney to a 3-2 (25-19, 26-24, 17-25, 15-25, 15-10) win at St. Marys.

Kinsee Barnett added 19 kills, 15 digs, and six aces with Zoey Hoover chipping in seven kills.

Danielle Griebel ran the offense for the Lady Chucks with 44 set assists while also adding 11 digs and four aces.

Rylee Nicklas had 14 kills, nine set assists, and four aces for St. Marys with Hannah Ritter adding 12 kills and two aces and Lexi Asti seven aces. Carley Reitz chipped in five kills.

Molly Hanslovan ran the offense for the Lady Dutch with 29 set assists and added six kills.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 3, JOHNSONBURG 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Kayley Risser had 11 kills and two aces to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 3-2 (25-23, 28-30, 20-25, 25-16, 15-6) win over visiting Johnsonburg.

Jessy Frank added nine kills and two aces for the Lady Cardinals with Lydia Morgan chipping in eight kills and an ace.

Melia Mistskvaich ran the offense for DCC with 18 set assists.

MAPLEWOOD 3, YOUNGSVILLE 0

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Elizabeth Hunter had 10 kills and two blocks to help Maplewood to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-5) sweep at Youngsville.

Madison O’Hara added seven kills and five digs for the Tigers with Savannah O’Hara chipping in six kills and Bree Neely five kills and 10 digs.

Maggie Means ran the offense for Maplewood with 29 set assists while adding nine aces and eight digs.

Riley Robinault had 11 digs and three blocks for Youngsville Shelby Lodbell added seven digs and Alyssa Gents chipped in six digs.

OSWAYO VALLEY 3, PORT ALLEGANY 0

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Olivia Cook had eight kills and eight digs to go with five blocks and two set assists to lead Oswayo Valley to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-23) road win over Port Allegany.

Laken Enty added three aces, two kills, five digs, and two blocks for the Green Wave with Praylan Perkins chipping in two aces, four kills, 13 digs, and a block.

NORTHWESTERN 3, GIRARD 0

GIRARD, Pa. – Nevaeh Kelley had 20 digs to lead Northwestern to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-19) win at Girard.

DUBOIS 3, BROOKVILLE 0 

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Morgan Pasternak had 13 kills, eight digs, and three aces to lead DuBois to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-20) win at Brookville.

Ava Barnonick added nine kills, nine digs, and four aces while Alissa Stevens with six kills and 10 digs, and Haley Reed ran the offense with 29 set assists and added four kills, three aces, and two digs.

Brookville got five kills from Julie Monnoyer and three from Averi Pangallo. Jordan Daisley finished with 14 digs.

COCHRANON 3, EISENHOWER 1

RUSSELL, Pa. – Cochranton overcame a slow start on the road to beat Eisenhower, 3-1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-19).

Brooklyn Needler led the Cardinals with 14 kills and seven digs with Dani Hoffman adding nine kills and nine digs and Claire McCartney eight kills and seven digs.

Eve Pfeiffer chipped in six kills in the win, Macie Williams had 16 digs and four aces, and Maggie Jackson ran the offense with 35 set assists.

Emilie Jones had 10 kills and five aces for Eisenhower with Carley Christianson adding 10 kills, five blocks, and an ace. Caroline Smyth also had seven kills, two blocks, and two aces for the Knights.

REDBANK VALLEY 3, UNION 0

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Redbank Valley started out a bit shaky but quickly found its legs in a 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-15) sweep of visiting Union.

Taylor Ripple led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 kills and two aces with Mylee Harmon adding nine kills and four aces and Izzy Bond chipping in five kills and two aces.

Elaina Carrico ran the offense for Redbank Valley with 17 set assists.

LAKEVIEW 3, COMMODORE PERRY 0

HADLEY, Pa. – Emma Marsteller had 17 set assists, five digs, and three kills to help Lakeview sweep homestanding Commodore Perry, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-23).

Riley Sample added three digs, three blocks, and two kills for the Sailors who also got six kills and three blocks from Kyndra Seddon, six digs, three kills, and two set assists from Maddie Doyle, and 11 digs from Kendall Emmert.

BROCKWAY 3, RIDGWAY 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Lauren Rendos had 12 kills to help Brockway to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-22) home win over Ridgway.

Teyha Shaw, Sophia Schmader, and Bella Patton each added three kills for the Lady Rovers with Shaw recording two blocks, Patton one block, and Schmader four digs.

Kalina Powell had three digs and two aces for Brockway, and Meeca Smith ran the offense with 19 set assists while adding three aces.

SAEGERTOWN 3, SLIPPERY ROCK 1

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Brywn McLaughlin and Maggie Triola combined for 31 kills to lead Saegertown to a 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23) home win over Slippery Rock.

McLaughlin had a match-high 16 kills with Triola adding 15 kills.

Triola also had three aces as did setter Lindsey Greco, who ran the offense with 42 set assists.

Lyndzee Amory added nine kills with Paige Smith chipping in five kills for the Panthers.

Saegertown’s defense was led by Rylie Braymer with 20 digs and Alyssa Arblaster with 13 digs. Rhiannon Parrs also added nine digs, and Braymer chipped in two aces.

Anora Robare had 35 set assists and six blocks for Slippery Rock with Lexi Plesakov adding 17 digs and Avalee Demidovich and Molly Bissell 10 kills apiece.

COUDERSPORT 3, CAMERON COUNTY 0

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Sierra Myers had 13 kills, eight blocks, and five digs to help Coudersport sweep visiting Cameron County, 3-0 (27-25, 25-16, 25-16).

Emilee Atherholt added eight kills for the Lady Falcons with Madyson Dubots-Angood chipping in four kills and 14 dsigs.

Ava Hilfiger had seven kills and a block for Cameron County.

WARREN 3, CATHEDRAL PREP 0

ERIE, Pa. – Warren used a balanced offensive attack to beat Cathedral Prep, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-17) in Erie.

Alexia Bowers led the Dragons with seven kills with Kylie Fehlman and Madelun Nosel each adding six kills and Lilly Newton chipping in four kills.

Fehlman also had two blocks, Newton added three blocks, and Nosel chipped in two set assists.

Summer Lucks paced the Warren defense with 11 digs, and Lindsay Madigan ran the offense with 23 set assists while serving six aces.

Kaylin Laird had nine kills for Cathedral Prep with Coco Speros adding five kills.

Mackenzie Moore led the Ramblers on defense with 11 digs with Carolina Krahe adding 10 digs. Kamryn Resurreccion ran the offense with 19 set assists.

SHEFFIELD 3, VENANGO CATHOLIC 0

OI:L CITY, Pa. – Visiting Sheffield made quick work of Venango Catholic with a 3-0 (25-4, 25-8, 25-6) victory behind eight kills from Kassidy Orinko.

Emily Foster added six kills and two blocks for the Lady Wolverines, while Kadence Steffan ran the offense with 22 set assists.

Paris Foster served five aces and was 15 of 16 on serves in the victory.

FORT LEBOEUF 3, SENECA 1

WATERFORD, Pa. – Fort LeBouef overcame a slow start at home to beat Seneca, 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-14).

Kayleigh Anderson led the Bison with 10 kills and five blocks while Katelyn Olmstead added six kills, 11 digs, and five blocks. Bella Johnson also had six digs in the victory.

Tessa Bellis and Mackenzie Galdon ran the offense for Fort LeBoeuf with Bellis recoding 15 set assists and six digs and Galdon 11 set assists.

Izzy Wisniewski had seven kills and nine digs for Seneca while Emily Stafford added six kills and six digs and Ava Guzowski six kills, five digs, and seven set assists.

Saam Harvey had a team-high 12 digs for the Bobcats while Madison Morvay had seven blocks.

KARNS CITY 3, FOREST AREA 0

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Ava Fox had 10 kills to help Karns City to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-6) win over visiting Forest Area.

Haylie Karenbauer added seven kills for the Lady Gremlins who also got six aces, three kills, and 16 set assists from Ashley Mauer, five kills and three aces from Naomi Venesku, and eight set assists from Brooke Rumbaugh.

ROCKY GROVE 3, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 0

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Katie Beggs had 25 set assists and six kills to lift Rocky Grove to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-15) home win over Kennedy Catholic.

Abby Cable led the Orioles on offense with 10 kills while Naalee Sloss added five kills and five digs and Oliva Fust chipped in six kills, six aces, and nine digs.

Kaidlunn Barger was big on defense for Rocky Grove with 11 digs.

OTTO-ELDRED 3, AUSTIN 0

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Kate Rhonehart had 12 kills, three aces, and two digs to lead Otto-Eldred past visiting Austin, 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-21).

Carrie Drummond added 10 kills, 16 digs, five blocks, and two aces for the Lady Terrors.

Anna Schuessler ran the offense for O-E with 24 set assists while adding three aces and a kill.

Savannah Horton had 10 kills for Austin with Isabella Rees adding seven kills and five blocks.

Ella Brewer paced the Panthers on defense with 23 digs.

MCDOWELL 3, GROVE CITY 1

ERIE, Pa. – Ana Fetzner had 13 kills to help McDowell defend its home court with a 3-1 (28-26, 25-18, 19-25, 25-16) win over Grove City.

Gabby DeLuca added 10 kills and five digs for the Trojans who also got 14 digs from Chase Rech and 10 digs from Tayler Rech.

Also for McDowell, Lexie Radtke had nine digs and Sophia Nestor chipped in six kills.

Halle Guentner ran the McDowell offense with 33 set assists and completed a double-double with 10 digs.

Abby Berry had 11 kills, 17 set assists, and five aces for Grove City with Jaya Persinger adding eight set assists and seven kills and Addi Dannels and Brynna Miller chipping in nine digs each.

Kylie Mahaffey also had five blocks for the Eagles.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, KANE 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Elk County Catholic had little trouble with visiting Kane sweeping the Lady Wolves, 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-10).

Reagan Bauer led ECC with 16 kills and seven aces with Tori Newton adding 15 kills and Payton Newton five kills and six aces.

Kiri Emmert ran the offense for the Lady Crusaders with 32 set assists.

WEST MIDDLESEX 3, JAMESTOWN 0

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Caitlin Stephens recorded 12 kills, eight set assists, and eight aces to help visiting West Middlesex beat Jamestown, 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 27-25).

Emma Mild added five kills and five aces for the Big Red who also got 11 set assists from Aby Stinedurf.

Hannah Hart had six kills and five aces for Jamestown with Madilyn Enterline adding 13 digs and Emily Enterline chipping in seven digs and six set assists. Alayna Cadman also had six digs and three aces.

CORRY 3, HARBOR CREEK 0

CORRY, Pa. – Halle Albers had nine kills, eight digs, and two aces to help Corry to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-20) home win over Harbor Creek.

Aubrey Chase added five kills, three digs, an ace, and a block for the Beavers who also got 12 digs and four aces from Makenna Moore.

Payton McCray ran the offense for Corry with 24 set assists while adding six digs, two kills, an ace, and a block.

FRANKLIN 3, SHARPSVILLE 0

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Katie Boal had nine kills and four blocks to spearhead a 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-13) home win for Franklin over Sharpsville.

Sophia Rondinelli led the Knights on defense with 22 digs, and Estella Adams ran the Franklin offense with 27 set assists.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 3, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 0

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Bridget Bullock and Brooke Eldred each had seven kills to help Cambridge Springs to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-14) win over visiting Tidioute Charter.

Sydney Zilhaver added six kills for the Blue Devils while Kylee Miller had 10 digs and Audrey Bullock nine digs and 12 set assists.

MOSHANNON VALLEY 3, CURWENSVILLE 1

HOUTZDALE, Pa. – Despite eight kills from Brooklynn Price visiting Curwensville dropped a 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-18, 26-24) decision to Moshannon Valley.

Janelle Passmore added seven kills and two set assists for the Lady Tide who also got three aces from Alaina Reitz and six kills, two aces, a digs, and an assist from Ava Olosky.

WESTMONT HILLTOP 3, CLEARFIELD 0

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Westmont Hilltop beat visiting Clearfield 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-19).

Hannah Glunt had 17 set assists for Clearfield with Natalie Rowles and Sam Campolong each adding five kills.

GALETON 3, SMETHPORT 2

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Despite eight aces, seven kills, six blocks, two set assists, and 19 digs from Elizabeth Hugiville, Smethport dropped a 3-2 (25-8, 20-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-9) home decision to Galeton.

Jadyn Goodman added three kills and 10 digs for the Lady Hubbers with Madi Faes running the offense with 23 set assists while adding 17 digs, two kills, and two aces.
