BOYS

ST. MARYS 43, AUSTIN 40

ST. MARYS, Pa. – St. Marys built a 13-point halftime lead then held off a strong second-half comeback attempt by visiting Austin to defeat the Panthers, 43-40.

Drake Caskey hit three first-half 3-pointers and scored 11 of his team-high 13 points before the break to help the Dutch open up a 28-15 halftime lead.

                                      

But Jackson Glover scored 19 of his game-high 30 points in the second half to help Austin get back in the game.

Glover, who was 10 of 14 from the free-throw line, also added seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and two blocked shots.

Mitchell Reiter chipped in eight points for St. Marys with Luke Lasko and Bryce Walker each scoring seven points.

Jacob Hooftallen added eight points for Austin.

CLEARFIELD 85, CURWENSVILLE 22

                          

HYDE, Pa. – In the first of two games on the day, Clearfield got 22 points, five rebounds, and four steals to beat visiting Curwensville, 85-22.

Cole Miller added 14 points for the Bison with Nasheed Thompson adding eight points and Matt Pallo seven.

Ty Terry scored 13 points to lead Curwensville.

CENTRAL-MARTINSBURG 59, CLEARFIELD 45

HYDE, Pa. – Central-Martinsburg beat Clearfield, 59-45, in the second game of the day for the Bison.

S. Bean paced Central with 15 points. C. Lowery and D. Boyles each scored 12 points for the Dragons with H. Klotz adding 10 tallies.

Karson Rumsky led Clearfield with 18 points with Cole Miller eight points.

FREEPORT 90, NORTH CLARION 69

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Ben Lane scored 22 points to help visiting Freeport down North Clarion, 90-69.

Cole Charlton added 18 points for the Yellow Jackets who also got 13 points apiece from Parker Lukas and Conner Holloway.

                                   

Collin Schmader exploded for a career-high 34 points to lead North Clarion. He hit five 3-pointers and scored 13 third-quarter tallies.

Dylan Walters added 15 points for the Wolves with Zeelan Hargenrader chipping in nine.

OTTO-ELDRED 71, GALETON 29

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Jake Merry exploded for 28 points, nine assists, five rebounds, and four steals to lead Otto-Eldred to a 71-29 win over visiting Galeton.

Zaz Bell added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Terrors who also got nine points and eight boards from Gavin Jimerson.

Ty Stover scored 18 points to lead Galeton.

GIRLS

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 54, EISENHOWER 35

RUSSELL, Pa. – Kayley Riser scored 18 points to lead a trio of DuBois Central Catholic players in double digits in a 54-35 Lady Cardinals win at Eisenhower.

Faith Jacob added 14 points for DCC with Paris Farley scoring 11.

Delaney Chase paced Eisenhower with 10 points, Lily Smyth added nine and Bella Marino seven.

COUDERSPORT 47, AUSTIN 10

AUSTIN, Pa. – Sarah Chambers scored 14 points to lead visiting Coudersport to a 47-10 win over Austin.

Overall, 10 Lady Falcons scored with Rosalyn Page also reaching double digits with 10 points.

                                  

Ella Brewer (six points) and Carly Cooney (four points) scored for Austin.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 48, CAMERON COUNTY 36

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Sydney Alexander and Tami Geci combined to score 27 points, as Elk County Catholic beat visiting Cameron County, 48-36.

Alexander led the Lady Crusaders with 14 points with Geci adding 13.

Lucy Klawuhn chipped in eight points for ECC.

Hailey Hilfiger paced Cameron County with 14 points, 11 in the first half, with Kaelee Bresslin adding 11 points and Mallory McKimm eight. Hilfiger also pulled down seven rebounds and came away with four steals, while McKimm had five steals and Morgan Lorenzo seven rebounds.

NORTHERN POTTER 45, SMETHPORT 24

ULYSSES, Pa. – Aubrey Anderson and Courtney Martin led a balanced Northern Potter attack with 10 points each, as the Lady Panthers beat visiting Smethport, 45-24, to pick up their first win of the season.

Faith Zdrojewski adding nine points for NoPo with Becca Martin chipping in eight points and nine rebounds.

Abby Lutz led Smethport with 10 points with Coryn McClain grabbing seven rebounds.

MONITEAU 64, FOREST AREA 33

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Aslyn Pry had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists to pace a 64-33 Moniteau win over visiting Forest Area.

Camryn Fallen added eight points for the Lady Warriors, who had 10 different players score.

Megan Clow led Forest Area with 11 points, Jessica Wagner scored nine, and Amber Guzzi eight.

LAUREL 57, REDBANK VALLEY 46

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Danielle Pontius scored 16 points to lead Laurel to a 57-46 win over visiting Redbank Valley.

The Spartans, who are coached by Otto-Eldred graduate and former Moniteau head coach Matt Stebbins, are ranked No. 3 in Class 3A in the WPIAL behind only last year’s WPIAL Class 4A champion North Catholic and last season’s WPIAL Class 3A champion Mohawk.

Reese Bintrim added 15 points for Laurel, who led by over 20 points at one point before withstanding a Redbank Valley comeback attempt, while Regan Atkins added 13 points.

Alivia Huffman paced the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points with Caylen Rearick adding 12.
