Jamestown’s Pfaff, LeBoeuf’s Stull Hit Two Homers Each in Softball Wins; Saegertown Baseball Rallies Past Cambridge

JAMESTOWN 16, GROVE CITY 4, 6 innings

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Jamestown scored six runs each in the fifth and sixth innings en route to a 16-4, 6-inning win over Grove City.

Josie Pfaff had a monster game for Jamestown, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs, while Kiley Matters was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, while Morgan Bercis was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, four RBIs and three runs and Reese Schaller was with a triple and two RBIs.

Miranda Biles pitched four innings and allowed four runs on four hits, striking out six for Jamestown.

               

Kara Kirk had an RBI for Jamestown and also took the loss.

FORT LEBOEUF 14, WARREN 7

WARREN, Pa. – Kendall Stull belted two home runs and had three RBIs in a 14-7 win over Warren.

Kadence Bailey also drove in two runs for Fort LeBoeuf, which scored 11 runs over the final three innings. Ryan Shields was also 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs.

Kiernan Skelton got the win, allowing seven runs (four earned) in five innings, striking out seven.

                          

Alanna Warrior drove in a pair of runs for the Dragons.

Alana Stuart took the loss, allowing 12 earned runs in seven innings on 13 hits, striking out 10 and walking 10.

HARBOR CREEK 12, UNION CITY 0, 5 innings

UNION CITY, Pa. – Kayla Bresee and Brooke Prsybylski homered and Addison Lucas tossed a 2-hitter as Harbor Creek blanked Union City, 10-0 in five innings.

Lucas struck out 11 and walked two.

               

Bresee had three RBIs and Przybylski two and Rylee Vogt and Eden Lander drove in two runs apiece for the Huskies, while Georgia Weber was 2-for-2 with a double, triple, RBI, and run scored

Alyssa Tingley took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) in four innings on nine hits, striking out three.

CATHEDRAL PREP 17, ERIE 0, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep scored 10 runs in the first inning en route to a 17-0, 5-inning win over Erie.

The Ramblers also scored six runs in the fifth inning, as Jenna Wagner and Emily Dudenhoeffer both homered, with Wagner driving in a team-high four runs.

Haley Dever was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs, with nine different Ramblers driving in one run each.

Mackenzie Moore allowed just two hits over five innings to get the win, striking out eight and walking one.

IROQUOIS 4, COCHRANTON 2

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Baelyn Randolph’s RBI double in the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner as Iroquois beat Cochranton, 4-2.

            

Randolph’s double gave Iroquois a 3-2 lead, which was followed by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Grace Abel.

Karina Reichard was also 3-for-4 with a run scored for Iroquois, while Mila Gehrelein-Carpenter hit a solo home run.

Phoenix Thomas got the win, allowing two runs on two hits in six innings, striking out two and walking one. Paige Slupski pitched a scoreless inning for the save.

Dani Hoffman belted a solo home run and Macie Williams also had an RBI.

Brooklyn Needler took the loss, allowing four runs on 11 hits, and striking out eight.

FORT LEBOEUF 14, WARREN 7

WARREN, Pa. – Kendall Stull belted two home runs and had three RBIs in a 14-7 win over Warren.

SENECA 8, FAIRVIEW 1

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Khylie Peterson went 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and three runs as Seneca earned an 8-1 win over Fairview.

Lauren Konkol was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Megan Konkol was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Lauren Konkol got the win, scattering 11 hits and giving up one unearned run, striking out three.

NORTHWESTERN 16, GIRARD 1, 3 innings

ALBION, Northwestern scored seven runs each in the first and second innings en route to a 16-1, 3-inning victory over Girard.

Mackenzie Adams drove in two runs for Northwestern, which took advantage of six Girard errors and 11 walks.

Johnson got the win, striking out six and allowing one run and four hits in three innings.

REYNOLDS 14, FARRELL 0, 5 innings

TRANSFER, Pa. – Phoenix Collins tripled, homered, and drove in four runs as Reynolds earned a 14-0, 4-inning win over Farrell.

Myah Snyder was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored for Reynolds, which scored nine runs in the second inning en route to the win.

Madelyn Diefenderfer tossed three scoreless innings, recording every out via strikeout in the win.

Maria Harrison took the loss, allowing 12 earned runs in four innings.

WEST MIDDLESEX 22, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 0, 3 innings

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Kaylee Long drove in five runs and Ava Gilmore four as West Middlesex beat Kennedy Catholic, 22-0 in three innings.

Gilmore homered, going 3-for-3 with four runs scored, while Long was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs.

Kadence Leonard drove in three runs and Alaina Bowers two for the Big Reds.

Gimore tossed three perfect innings with six strikeouts to get the win.

EISENHOWER 4, ROCKY GROVE 3

RUSSELL, Pa. – Eisenhower broke the tie with a run in the fifth, then added what would prove to be the game-winner in the sixth before forcing a groundout that left the tying run on third for a 4-3 win over Rocky Grove.

With the game tied at 2-2, Julia Gesing hit a one-out double and moved to third on Payton Frank’s bunt single. Gesing stole home to put the Knights up 3-2.

Samantha Childs hit a leadoff single to start the sixth. One out later, and after Childs had stolen second and third, Kendra Danielson hit an RBI single to bring in Childs for the deciding run.

Rocky Grove staged a two-out rally in the seventh.

After a pair of ground outs, Olivia Faust reached and advanced to second on an error. Grascen Reyburn doubled to score Faust and Emily Rice singled to put runners on the corners and the tying run 60 feet away.

Emilie Jones got Elizabeth Mawhinney to ground out to end the game.

Rice finished with a pair of hits and a run scored. Faust scored twice and Mawhinney and Reyburn each drove in a run.

Mawhinney allowed four runs, three earned, on eight hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts.

Frank, Jones, and Childs each had two hits. Childs scored twice and Danielson had the lone RBI for the Knights.

Jones gave up three runs, one earned, on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts to pick up the win.

WILMINGTON 8, MERCER 1

MERCER, Pa. – Ava Williamson and Stella Maynard combined on a 2-hitter as Wilmington earned an 8-1 win over Mercer.

Williamson allowed just two hits and struck out 11 in five innings, while Maynard allowed one unearned run, striking out four.

Faith Jones hit a solo home run and scored three runs for Wilmington, while Graeson Grubbs was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Maelee Whiting was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Angelina Eakman took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out 13.

SHARON 16, SLIPPERY ROCK 3, 5 innings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Sharon scored 12 runs in the fourth inning en route to a 16-3, 5-inning win over Slippery Rock.

Mia Cabraja was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Sharon, while Ella Connelly was 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Dalani Bayer and Mary Claire Brown drove in two runs each.

Claire Bodien allowed three unearned runs on one hit in five innings to get the win, striking out five and walking six.

Ciana D’Dntoni allowed 12 earned runs in 3 ⅓ innings to take the loss, allowing 10 hits and striking out six.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 14, YOUNGSVILLE 0, 4 INNINGS

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – An 9-run second inning lifted Cambridge Springs to a 14-0, 4-inning win over Youngsville.

The Blue Devils needed just two extra-base hits to score their 14 runs. They used six hits to score nine runs in the second inning.

Emily Boylan had three hits, including a double, while Jaydan Simmons and Morgan Dunton each had a pair of hits.

Hailee Rodgers allowed just one hit over her four innings. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out eight.

Madison Carnahan had the lone hit for the Eagles.

BASEBALL

SAEGERTOWN 11, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 10

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – William Shaffer delivered a walk-off 2-run single, part of a 3-run seventh inning that sent Saegertown past Cambridge Springs

After both teams scored three runs in the first inning, Saegertown took an 8-3 after four, only to watch as Cambridge Springs put up a 7-spot in the fifth inning.

Shafer knocked in three runs in the game, and his game-winning single brought in Everett Gardner, who walked, and Henry Shaffer, who was intentionally walked. Wyatt Burchill walked and came around to score on a wild pitch. All of this came with two outs.

Sully Zirkle was 2-for-3 with two runs, while Joe Grundy was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Saegertown also took advantage of six Cambridge Springs errors.

Joe Grundy got the win, allowing two runs in 2 ⅔ innings with four hits and six strikeouts.

Bryce Kania went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Brett Kania was 3-for-4 with two RBIS and Gunnar Gage was 1-for-4 with three RBIs.

Tristan Mazzadra took the loss, going 2 ⅔ innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking three.

REYNOLDS 6, JAMESTOWN 3

TRANSFER, Pa. – Reynolds scored four runs in the fourth inning en route to a 6-3 win over Jamestown.

Nolan Reichard was the offensive star for the Raiders, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Ryan Broadwater also had an RBI and Cameron Buckley had a pair of hits.

Carter Reichard got the win, allowing three runs in five innings on five hits, striking out two and walking four. Broadwater tossed two scoreless innings of relief to get the save.

Aiden Woyt was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Jamestown.

Woyt took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) in six innings on 10 hits, striking out three and walking two.

NORTH EAST 8, SENECA 1

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Tyler Wittman tossed six strong innings and North East built a 6-0 lead on its way to an 8-1 win over Seneca.

Wittman allowed one run on six hits, striking out six and striking out five.

The top of North East’s lineup did most of the damage, as Tommy Owens was 2-for-3 with three runs, Owen Kemp 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, David Gibson was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Andrew Aspden was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Conner Kaveney took the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) in five innings on eight hits, striking out four and walking six.

HARBOR CREEK 12, JUSTICE (Va.) 12

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Harbor Creek rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to earn a 12-7 win over Justice (Va.).

Eight different Harbor Creek players drove in at least one run, as the Huskies scored 10 runs over the final three innings.

Alex Maldonado was 3-for-4 with two triples and an RBI, while Brady Rzodkiewicz, CJ Pius, and Tyler Burick collected two RBIs each, and Gio Barbato was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Sam LaFuria got the win, allowing two runs (one earned) in three innings on six hits, striking out six.

Kenny Coates was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored for Justice.

B. Brown took the loss, allowing 12 runs (seven earned) in five innings on 13 hits, striking out a pair.
