Irwin Pitches North Clarion Past Keystone; Dinger’s Dinger Helps Punxsy to Victory; Evens 5-Inning No-No for Port Allegany

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Drake Irwin threw a gem to help North Clarion to a 3-2 home win over Keystone.

Irwin went seven innings allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out five.

Aiden Hartle and Kaleb Wolbert each had doubles for the Wolves with Hartle going 1-for-2 with a walk and Wolbert going 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Irwin helped himself by going 1-for-3 with an RBI with Wade Peters and Ethan Carrll each going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Drew Keth was 2-for-4 with an RBI for KEystone while Cole Henry was 2-for-3 with a double and Noah Weckerly was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Henry pitched well in a losing effort going six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 12, KARNS CITY 2, 5 INNINGS

               

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Zach Dinger hit a home run and drove in three runs and Jake Sikora hit a homer and drove in two to lead Punxsutawney to a 12-2, five-inning win over visiting Karns City.

Dinger, who also doubled, was 2-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored, while Sikora went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Zeke Bennett also added three RBIs for the Chucks going 1-for-3, and Justin Miller was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Hobie Bartoe was was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Karns City.

Coy Martino went three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on a hit, four walks, and two hit batters while striking out six. Bennett went two innings allowing a hit while striking out four.

Wyatt Fleming took the loss allowing 10 runs, eight earned, on five hits, five walks, and two hit batters, while Mason Sherwin went one inning allowing two earned runs on two hits, a walk, and a hit batter.

CURWENSVILLE 16, PURCHASE LINE 6, 5 INNINGS

COMMODORE, Pa. – Christian Fegert and Lawson Neiswender each drove in three runs to lead Curwensville to a 16-6, five-inning win at Purchase Line.

Fegert was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, while Neiswender was 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Ayden Sutika added a 2-for-3 day with two RBIs and three runs scored for the Golden Tide, while Andrew Pentz was 3-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

Also for Curwensville, Merek Sutika was 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs and Aidan Finn was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

John Edwards went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Purchase Line with Andrew Smarsh was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

       

Logan Kunkle got the win going four innings allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Ayden Sutika went one inning allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out one.

PORT ALLEGANY 11, SMETHPORT 0, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Drew Evens threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead Port Allegany to an 11-0, five-inning win over visiting Smethport.

He walked three and struck out nine.

Tyler Carinci, Henry Troupe, and Blaine Moses each drove in two runs for the Gators.

Carinici was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Troup was 1-for-3 and Moses was 0-for-3 with a run scored.

Keegen Watson walked twice for Smethport.

Cole Zuba took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 11 runs, six earned, on seven hits, and six walks while striking out three.

CAMERON COUNTY 18, OSWAYO VALLEY 3, 3 INNINGS

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Ryan Shaffer drove in four runs to lead Cameron County to an 18-3, three-inning win over visiting Oswayo Valley.

Shaffer was 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored.

Driving in two runs each for the Red Raiders were Eastyn Solevson, Maddox Baughman, and Jake Narby.

Solevson was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three runs scored, Baughman was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and Narby was 1-for-1 with three walks and two runs scored.

Josh Beer and Jesop Farabaugh also scored a pair of runs each for the Red Raiders with Beer going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI and Farabaugh going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Cayden Black was 2-for-2 with a run scored for Oswayo Valley with Andrew Wood going 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Ian Bolin got the win going three innings giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits, a walk, and two hit batters. He struck out one.

Isaiah Goode took the loss going 2 ⅓ innings allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on five hits, nine walks, and a hit batter while striking out two.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 10, CLEARFIELD 5

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. – Ben Gustkey had four hits and Jamey Massung drove in three runs to lift Philipsburg-Osceola to a 10-5 home win over Clearfield.

Gustkey was 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Massung was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Denny Prestash was also 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs in the win, while Jake DeSimone was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored and Aidan Minarchick was 2-for-4.

Morgen Billotte was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI for Clearfield, while Hayvin Bumbarger went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, and Cole Bloom was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.

Anthony Lopez also went 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, and an RBI for the Bison.

Zach Yoder got the win going four innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits and six walks while striking out five.

Parker Scaife got the save going three innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits while striking out one.

Hunter Rumsky took the loss going 2 ⅓ innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits and three walks while striking out three.

BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (N.Y.) 8, COUDERSPORT 2

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Trey Buchholz drive in four runs to lead Bolivar-Richburg (N.Y.) to an 8-2 road win over Coudersport.

Buchholz was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.

Owen Deutschlander was 2-for-3 for Coudersport, while Gavyn Ayers went 1-for-1 with a triple, two walks, an RBI, and a run scored.

Buchholz got the win going five innings of scoreless ball. He allowed four hits, walked two batters, and hit a batter while striking out one.

Reiss Gaines gave up two unearned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out three in two innings for B-R.

Deutschlander took the loss going two innings allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out two.
