Hickory, McDowell Claim D10 Girls’ Team Golf Titles Powered by Hunter’s Station Golf Club

Hickory captured the D10 Class 2A team title.
   

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Hickory girls golf team took the first step in defending its PIAA Class 2A title by first defending its District 10 title at The Country Club of Meadville.

The Hornets led by a 77 from Sasha Petrochko, beat Mercyhurst Prep 244-262 for the crown, while McDowell beat Erie 299-313 for the Class 3A crown.

Both teams advance to a PIAA Western subregional.

Also for Hickory, Luciana Masters shot a 79 and Ava Liburdi an 88.

For Mercyhurst Prep, Katie Caryl shot an 81, Izzy Barbero an 89, and Loia Macek a 92.

            

Alexis Marsh led McDowell with a 94, while Ava Neumair shot a 102 and Analise Wolf a 103.

McDowell captured the D10 Class 3A girls team golf title.

Erie’s Elizabeth D’Andrea shot an 86, Sheraden Sears a 97, and Jose Berdis 130.

West Middlesex sophomore Katie Sowers leads after Day 1 of the individual tournament with 69, while D’Andrea leads in Class 3A, with Round 2 on Saturday.

The top 15 players and ties advance to the second round in Class 2A and the top eight in 3A.

The top four golfers in Class 2A advance to the PIAA championship, while just the D10 champ advances in Class 3A.
