EDINBORO, Pa. – General McLane School District athletic director Rob Kennerknecht died on Tuesday after a months-long battle with cancer, superintendent Matthew Lane announced on Tuesday.
“Rob was a larger-than-life figure who touched the lives of everyone he met in ways that, even now in this time of tremendous grief, leave a smile on your face,” Lane said in a letter to the General McLane community. “His wit and facetious humor were only surpassed in scale by his enormous heart that fueled his unconditional caring for students’ well-being and support for the adults in their lives as part of the General McLane school community.”
Kennerknecht also served as the GM athletic trainer.
His passing was felt throughout District 10, as a number of schools and officials took to social media to express their condolences.
