Franklin Softball Keeps Rolling; North East, Northwestern Notch Big Wins

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Trinity ‘Edge continued her stellar play, going 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs and was also the winning pitcher in Franklin’s 8-2 victory over Corry.

Edge also had two doubles and scored a pair of runs. In the circle, she went the distance, allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out 15 and walking one.

The Lady Knights jumped on Corry with three runs in the first inning and two more in the third. Sydney Hoobler was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs, while Rilee Hanna was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Kendyll Chamberlin hit a solo home run for Corry. Allison Sawyer took the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) in five innings of work, allowing 13 hits and striking out one.

NORTH EAST 16, MERCYHURST PREP 1, 4 innings

               

NORTH EAST, Pa. – North East scored 16 runs on just five hits, taking advantage of 13 Mercyhurst Prep walks and four errors in a 16-1, 4-inning win.

Maisy Post was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs, while Alex Cozzens was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Alaina Rodemoyer was 1-for-1 with four walks, two RBIs, and a run and Julianna Coletta was 2-for-3 with an RBI and four runs.

Sydney Whitman got the win, allowing one run on five hits, striking out nine.

Malaina Vallimont was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Mercyhurst Prep.

Aubree Wells took the loss, allowing 10 runs (six earned) in three innings, allowing two hits, striking out two, and walking 10.

                          

NORTHWESTERN 18, GIRARD 1, 4 innings

GIRARD, Pa. – Northwestern scored nine runs in the third inning on its way to an 18-1, 4-inning win over Girard.

Courtney Eddy hit a 3-run home run for Northwestern, while Zoey Johnson was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, Madison Adams was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs and Aaliyah Pekcman was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs.

Johnson got the win, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six.

Laurel Brink had an RBI triple for Girard. Elizabeth Edmiston took the loss, allowing 15 runs (five earned) in three innings on nine hits and four walks.
