Feb. 12, 2022 D10 Hoops: Reynolds’ Harrold Drains School-Record Eight Threes in Win; Cambridge Springs Bounces Back

TRANSFER, Pa. – Lawrynn Harrold set a single-game program record with eight threes as Reynolds beat Jamestown in Region 1 action, 67-27.

Harrold finished with 28 points in the game and Halle Murcko finished with 18 as the Raiders poured in 24 points in the second quarter to take control.

Stacie Weimert (10) and Jillian McElhinny (9) combined for 19 points for Jamestown.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 43, SAEGERTOWN 31

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Cambridge Springs bounced back from its lone Region 2 loss of the season with a 43-31 win over Saegertown.

                                      

Makenzie Yanc led the way for the Blue Devils with 17 points, as they outscored the Panthers 20-13 in the second half.

Hailee Rodgers had nine points, Maddie Yanc eight, and Finley Rauscher seven for the Blue Devils.

Lindsey Greco led Saegertown with 12 points.

SENECA 47, CONNEAUT (Pa.) 42

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Lauren Konkol and Lauren Schneider scored 16 points each as Seneca outlasted Conneaut, 47-42 in non-region action.

                          

Meghan Konkol added nine points for the Bobcats.

Hannah Brady led the way for Conneaut with 16 points and four rebounds, while Rylee Jones had 11 points, six rebounds, five steals, and three assists.

UNION CITY 58, EISENHOWER 24

UNION CITY, Pa. – Cathryn Reynolds led three Union City players in double figures with 14 points in a 58-24 Region 2 win over Eisenhower.

Eisenhower actually led, 12-8 after the first quarter and it was 20-18 UC at halftime, but the Bears outscored the Knights 38-6 in the second half.

Jessica Messenger had 13 points and Michayla Magee 12 for Union City.

Mackenzie Dunn had 12 points and eight rebounds for Eisenhower, while Bella Marino added seven points, four assists, two blocks, and two steals.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 53, FARRELL 14

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Bellah DiNardo scored 15 points as Kennedy Catholic beat rival Farrell, 53-14.

DiNardo was the only player on either team in double figures, with Isabella Bianco tallying seven points for the Golden Eagles.

                                   

Sanaa Brodie led Farrell with six points.

SHALER 54, ERIE 27

SHALER, TWP, Pa. – Shaler scored 40 points in the first half on its way to a 54-27 win over Erie.

Mackenzie Barr had 13 points to lead Shaler and Hanna Dejidas 12.

Cylie Schrimper and Arianna Mitchell added seven for Erie.

FORT LEBOEUF 29, NORTHWESTERN 25

WATERFORD, Pa. – Fort LeBoeuf jumped out to a 14-2 lead after the first quarter and held off Northwestern, 29-25.

Jillian Soder had 13 points to lead the Bison.

Taylor Stagl finished with eight points to lead Northwestern.

SAEGERTOWN 72, IROQUOIS 47

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Henry Shaffer led four Saegertown players in double figures with 19 points as the Panthers raced past Iroquois in Region 2 action, 72-47.

The Panthers led by 20, 38-18 at halftime en route to the win.

Brady Greco finished with 16, Jaden Wilkins 13, and Collin Jones 10 for Saegertown.

Ben Burkhardt led Iroquois with 19 points.

                                  

AUSTINTOWN FITCH (OHIO) 58, SHARPSVILLE 40

AUSTINTOWN, OHIO – Mack Staunch and James Thomas combined for 30 points, but it was Austintown Fitch that came away with a 58-40 win over Sharpsville.

Deshawn Vaughn poured in 29 points for Austintown, which built a 33-23 halftime lead en route to the win.

Staunch had 17 and Thomas 13 for the Blue Devils.

MCDOWELL 41, MERCYHURST PREP 29

ERIE, Pa. – Luke Chamberlain scored 13 points as McDowell earned a 41-29 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

Stephen Porter added 10 points for the Trojans.

Trey Battle led Mercyhurst Prep with 10 points.

NORTH ALLEGHENY 46, CATHEDRAL PREP 38

ERIE, Pa. – North Allegheny built a 14-point halftime lead en route to a 46-38 win over Cathedral Prep.

The Ramblers tried to rally in the fourth quarter, going on a 16-7 run, but it wasn’t enough.

Joey Dopauf (17) and Robby Jones (16) combined for 33 points for North Allegheny.

Semontae Lofton had 10 points and Tavion Spencer nine for Prep.

GENERAL MCLANE 48, NORTHWESTERN 35

EDINBORO, Pa. – Danny Bruce scored 19 points as General McLane earned a 48-35 non-reigon win over Northwestern.

Jeremiah Schreiber and Dane Jukes had 13 and 12 points, respectively for the Lancers.

Eric Steinle had 16 points for Northwestern.
