FARRELL, Pa. – On Friday, Aug. 7, Farrell announced that it was suspending all voluntary athletics workouts and extra-curricular activities until Aug. 18, 2020, because some of its students have potentially been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

“It has come to the attention of the Farrell Area School District that some of our students have potentially been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19,” a statement from Farrell superintendent Lora Adams-King said. “Though the potential exposure did not occur on the grounds of the Farrell Area School District or within its’ facilities, in an abundance of caution, all voluntary workouts and extra-curricular activities will be suspended until Aug. 18, 2020. Should this situation change, and extra-curricular activities be permitted to resume sooner, each extra-curricular group will be notified.”

The statement added that the Farrell Area School District will continue to rigorously and diligently prepare for the 2020-2021 school year with the health and safety of our students and staff always first and foremost.
