Farrell Powers Past Jamestown for Class D10 Class 1A Boys Championship

FARRELL. Pa. – The Farrell Steelers were impressive from start to finish in claiming the District 10 Class 1A boys’ championship with a 60-35 win over Jamestown on Friday.

Leading 25-19 at halftime, the Steelers went on a 16-4 run in the third quarter to gain complete control. 

Lamont Samuels was big during the spurt, scoring nine of his 14 points. 

                                      

The Steelers got balanced scoring across the board, as Trian Holden added 10 points, all of which came in the first half, while Sian Rain added nine and Kylon Wilson eight. 

The Steelers overcame a big game from Jamestown’s Peyton McElhinny, who scored a game-high 21 points. He scored 11 in the first half and eight in the fourth quarter. 

Farrell advances to play District 5 champion Berlin on Tuesday.
