Exley Homers Twice as Keystone Snaps Redbank’s 5-Game Win Streak; Cranberry Tops ACV/Union; Punxsy Sweeps Bradford

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Leah Exley hit a pair of home runs and Natalie Bowser had four hits to lead Keystone to a 10-4 win at Redbank Valley.

Exleyu was 2-for-3 with two walks, three runs scored, and four RBIs, while Bowser was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored, and an RBI.

Karley Callander also drove in two runs for the Lady Panthers going 1-for-3 with two walks, while EXX Dixon was 2-for-5 with a run scored, and Leah Sheatz was 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored.

Quinn White was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI for Redbank Valley, which saw its five-game win streak come to an end.

               

Exley got the win going seven innings allowing four runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss going seven innings allowing 10 runs, six earned, on 11 hits and seven walks while striking out 13.

It was win No. 200 for long-time Keystone head coach John Stiglitz.

FOREST AREA 8, CLARION 5

PAINT TWP., Pa. – Izzy Flick and Brooke Fellewti each drove in two runs to help Forest Area to an 8-5 road win over Clarion.

                          

Flick was 2-for-5 with a run scored while Felleti was 2-for-4.

Akeela Greenawalt (2-for-5, 2 runs scored), Faith Dietrich (2-for-3, 1 walk, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored), and Ava Best (2-for-4, 1 run scored) each added a pair of hits for the Fires.

Alicyn Burford was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI for Clarion, while Hadlee Campbell was also 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI for the Lady Cats with Kelsey Best going 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI,

Mackenzie Mellon got the win going four innings in relief of Flick allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks while striking out four. Flock pitched three innings allowing an unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out two.

Haylee Cratsley took the loss allowing eight runs, seven earned, on 13 hits, a walk, and two hit batters while striking out four in seven innings of work.

               

CRANBERRY 9, A-C VALLEY/UNION 1

SENECA, Pa. – Reyna Watson, Jadyn Shumaker, and Alexis Reisinger each had two hits in Cranberry’s 9-1 home win over A-C Valley/Union.

Watson was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, Shumaker was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Reisinger was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Rylee Coe was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs in the win.

Lexi Bauer was 2-for-4 for A-C Valley/Union with Colleen Verostek was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

McKaylah Smith got the win going four scoreless innings allowing a hit and four walks while striking out five. Watson got the save going three innings allowing an earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out five.

Magen Walzak took the loss going three innings allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits, three walks, and a hit batter.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 12, BRADFORD 2, 6 INNINGS; PUNXSUTAWNEY 15, BRADFORD 0, 4 INNINGS

BRADFORD, Pa. – Punxsutawney swept a doubleheader at Bradford winning 12-2 in six innings in the first game and 15-0 in four innings in the nightcap.

            

In the opener, Avary Powell was 3-for-3 with a home run, four runs scored, and two RBIs to lead the Chucks while Ciara Toven went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Brynn Hergert was also 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Kalie Dixon was 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored, and an RBI for Bradford.

Karli Young got the win going six innings allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out 10.

Dixon took the loss going six innings allowing 12 runs, 11 earned, on 16 hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out two.

The nightcap saw Toven and Brinley Hallman combine on a one-hit shutout.

Toven didn’t give up a hit in three innings of work to get the win. She walked one and struck out three. Hallman went a scoreless inning giving up one hit while striking out two.

Toven blasted a pair of home runs in the victory going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and seven RBIs. Her homer in the third inning was a grand slam.

Sydney Hoffman was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs for Punxsutawney, while Hallman went 1-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Dixon had the hit for Bradford and was the losing pitcher going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 15 runs, 14 earned, on 12 hits and seven walks.

DUBOIS 14, BROOKVILLE 2

BROOKVILLE, Pa. — Emma Delp out-hit Brookville and led DuBois to a 14-2 win at Blake Field in Brookville.

Delp tossed a three-hitter in the circle, striking out nine and walking five while finishing with four hits and driving in four runs while scoring two others.

Delp’s three-run double keyed DuBois’ six-run third inning that broke a 2-2 tie, although Brookville committed four errors in the inning.

Gabby Gulvas singled three times while Lynx Lander doubled twice. Haley Reed had two hits with a double and Morgan Pasternak tripled.

Megan McKinney and Alyssa Tollini singled while Cadence Suhan doubled for Brookville.

Natasha Rush was the losing pitcher, giving up 17 hits and two walks while striking out four. Six of DuBois’ runs were unearned.

OTTO-ELDRED 10, COUDERSPORT 3

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – For the second time in three days Otto-Eldred picked up a victory over Coudersport this time defeating the visiting Lady Falcons, 10-3.

The unbeaten Lady Terrors (11-0) got two RBIs apiece from Carrie Drummond, Heidi Gordan, and Kyla Andreano.

Drummond was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, Gordon was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Andreano was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Lexi Prince added a pair of hits going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for Otto-Eldred with Katie Sheeler going 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, Bri Heller going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, and Jessi Gakk going 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Savanah Myers was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored while Sierra Myers was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Hannah Fleniken was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Heller got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on eight hits and a hit batter while striking out 11.

Savanah Myers took the loss going 5 ⅔ innings allowing 10 runs, seven earned, on nine hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out six.

JOHNSONBURG 11, PORT ALLEGANY 0, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Jenna Kasmierski hit a home run and drove in five runs to lead Johnsonburg to an 11-0, five-inning road win at Port Allegany.

Kasemierski was 3-for-3 with a run scored.

Shelby Sorg added a pair of RIs going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored, while Julia Jones was 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and two runs scored for the Ramettes.

Alyssa Tanner was 1-for-2 and Kayleigha Dowell was 1-for-3 for Port Allegany.

Jones got the win going five innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out 13.

Cayle Lloyd was the losing pitcher.

KANE 13, SMETHPORT 1, 5 INNINGS

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Sara Ely had three RBIs and scored two runs to help visiting Kane to a 13-1, five-inning win at Smethport.

Elizabeth Yasurek had a pair of hits for the Lady Wolves going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored with Kylie Iak (1-for-1, 1 run scored), Alexa Olmstead (1-for-1, 1 run scored), and Leah Tigani (1-for-1) each driving in a pair of runs.

Kate Parana scored three times for Kane going 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Caden Carlson-Maybury was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Jaiden Hoodman was 1-for-1 for Smethport.

Miley Himes got the win going three innings allowing an earned run on five walks while striking out two. Olmstead went two innings allowing a hit while striking out three.

Elizabeth Hungiville took the loss going ⅓ of an inning allowing eight earned runs. She walked six and hit two.

CURWENSVILLE 15, MOSHANNON VALLEY 0, 3 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – A 13-run second inning fueled a 15-0 Curwensville home win over Moshannon Valley.

Teagan Harzinski drove in four runs for the Lady Tide while Addison Siple had three RBIs and Natalie Wishuck two.

Harzinksi was 2-for-3, Sipple was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, and a run scored, and Wischuck was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Addison Butler also scored three runs for the Lady Tide going 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI.

Siple tossed a three-inning perfect game striking out all nine batters she faced on 35 pitches.

KNOCH 5, KARNS CITY 2

SAXONBURG, Pa. – Marlee Fraser tossed a six-hitter to help Knoch beat visiting Karns City, 5-2.

Fraser gave up two earned runs while walking one and striking out nine. She helped herself going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Jess Dunn was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Karns City.

Addison Burrows took the loss going six innings allowing five runs, three earned, on seven hits and three walks while striking out three.

NEW CASTLE 9, MONITEAU 7

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Tamiyah Kimmel went 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead New Castle to a 9-7 win at Moniteau.

The Hurricanes built a 9-0 lead and then held off a late charge by the Lady Warriors who scored one in the fifth, three in the sixth, and three in the seventh.

Brianna Rottman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Moniteau while Lily Staab went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs and Ashley Huffman was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Emma Covert took the loss allowing nine earned runs on eight hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out six.

Morgan Piatt got the win going five innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out nine.
