Erie Boys Power Past Altoona in Class 6A Subregional

Erie, entering with a record of 18-3, dominated Altoona, which came in at 3-16, from start to finish in a 75-21 win in their Class 6A subregional. 

The District 10 champion Royals led by 19 after the first quarter and kept rolling from there. 

                                      

Jamie Smith led three Erie players in double figures with 23 points. Marcell Banks chipped in with 14 and Marquell Darnell 10. 

Erie led 51-8 at halftime. 

Kyle Pheasant and Colin Lear had five points each for Altoona. 

With the win, Erie advances to play District 7 champion Upper St. Clair in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
