WARREN, Pa. – Trinity Edge put together a truly special all-around season in leading Franklin into the PIAA playoffs for the second consecutive season.

For her efforts, the junior Edge was named D9and10Sports District 10 Softball Player of the Year, joining fellow major award winners Mikaila Obenrader of Saegertown (Pitcher of the Year), her coach Jennifer Bowes (Manager of the Year), and Warren’s Alana Stuart (Rookie of the Year).

Edge was great both in the circle and at the plate for Franklin, as the Knights finished second in District 10 and lost a 4-3 walk-off heartbreaker in the first round of the PIAA playoffs to eventual state champion Clearfield. She hit .586 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 24 RBIs with a 1.542 OPS for a Franklin team that scored 10 or more runs in a game 15 times.

In the pitcher’s circle, Edge compiled an 18-3 record with a 2.48 ERA in 124 ⅓ IP. She struck out 171 batters and limited opponents to a .209 batting average against.

Obenrader, the 2021 D9and10Sports D10 Rookie of the Year, put together a stellar season in the circle to help lead the Lady Panthers into the PIAA Class 1A semifinals. The sophomore went 16-5 with a 1.23 ERA, including five no-hitters (including in the PIAA quarterfinals against Union-New Castle). In addition, she struck out 242 batters to just 42 walks, had one perfect game, and limited opponents to a .094 batting average against.
