DuBois Softball Uses Long Ball to Beat Brashear Move into D6-8-9 Subregional Title Game in Class 5A Powered by North Washington Rodeo

DUBOIS, Pa. – DuBois hit three home runs on its way to a 10-3 win over Brashear in the semifinals of the District 6-8-9 Class 5A softball playoffs Tuesday at Heindl Field in DuBois.

Sarah Henninger, Saige Weible, and Kat Patton each went deep for the Lady Beavers.

Henninger was 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Weible was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Patton was 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Taylor Smith also went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs for DuBois, which scored four runs in each of the first two innings.

Henninger led off the bottom of the first with a home run, while Weible’s shot came in the second inning. Patton hit a two-run home run in the fifth.

Lauren Walker also scored a couple of runs for DuBois going 1-for-3.

Aleigha Geer got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on 10 hits while striking out eight.

DuBois will take on the winner of the Bellefonte vs. Central Mountain game, which is Wednesday, May 26, June 3 at a District 6 site to be announced.
