DuBois Knocks off Obama Academy in 5A Subregional Semifinal Game

DUBOIS, Pa. – Tyler Chamberlin and Noah Farrell combined to keep Obama Academy’s bats to eight hits, as DuBois beat the visiting Eagles, 5-3, in a District 6-8-9 subregional semifinal game at Showers Field in DuBois.

Chamberlin got the win going four innings allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out five. Farrell got the save going three innings allowing an earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out five.

DuBois scored three times in the first to set the tone with Gavin Kaschalk putting the Beavers up for good, 2-1, with a two-run single and Billy Gray following with an RBI hit.

Up 3-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, DuBois added two important insurance runs on a two-run, two-out single by Chamberlin.

   

                  

Farrell added a 2-for-4 day with a run scored for the Beavers.

Chad Helwich was 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored for Obama Academy.

Helwich took the loss going 5 2/3 innings allowing five earned runs on five hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

DuBois awaits the winner of the Central Mountain/Hollidaysburg game in the subregional final May 31 at a District 6 site.
