WARREN, Pa. – DuBois’s Cam-Ron Hays scored four touchdowns on the ground to lead the Beavers to perhaps their biggest opening-season win in six years with a 28-7 victory over Region 1 preseason favorite and two-time defending District 9 2A champion Karns City.

And that is the reason Hays is the 2022 YDL Sports Network D9and10Sports.com District 9 Jim Kelly Football Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg.

Hays ran the ball 10 times for 84 yards and the four touchdowns while also going 9 of 15 for 52 yards passing.

Additional players who need to be mentioned who had fantastic weeks – it should be kept in mind that stats are not the sole driver of the Player of the Week with such important factors including opponent, importance of the game, clutch play, and others equally weighed – include Keystone’s Tyler Albright (147 yards total offense, 2 TDs, 3 Ints), Central Clarion’s Jase Ferguson (336 yards passing, 4 Tds, 3 Ints) and Ashton Rex (3 catches, 226 yards, 2 TDs), Redbank Valley’s Cam Wagner (228 yards passing, 5 Tds, 34 yards rushing 1 TD), St. Marys’s Charlie Coudriet (7 of 14 passing, 137 yards, 2 Tds, 57 yards rushing, 4 Tds, 1 int on defense), Punxsutawney’s Zeke Bennett (179 yards rushing, 4 Tds), and Curwensville’s Dan McGarry (4 Tds).

Those players are joined on the Honor Roll by ECC’s Noah Cherry (181 yards rushing, 2 Tds), Brockway’s Blake Pisarcik (3 TDs) and Brayden Fox (214 yards passing, 1 TD), and Port Allegany’s Blaine Moses (132 yards, 3 TDs).
