RALEIGH, N.C. – DuBois Area High School graduate and current NC State 157-pound redshirt freshman Ed Scott was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Wrestler of the Week, joining Duke 149-pounder Josh Finesilver.

Scott defeated a pair of top-15 opponents while posting a 3-0 record at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in late December.

Scott’s run at the Collegiate Duals included a tech fall against Binghamton’s Tyler Martin, a 3-2 decision over Missouri’s 15th-ranked Jarret Jacques and a first-period pin (1:10) of Iowa’s eighth-ranked Kaleb Young (a Punxsutawney grad).

In addition to earning a No. 11 weight-class ranking by Intermat and a No. 15 ranking from FloWrestling, Scott helped the No. 5 Wolfpack to a 35-7 rout of Binghamton, a 19-12 win over No. 10 Missouri, and a near-upset of top-ranked Iowa. NC State battled the Hawkeyes to the wire before coming out on the short end of a 19-15 decision.

On the season, Scott is a perfect 13-0 (his lone loss to a teammate does not count towards his record, nor does wins against teammates). Of those 13 wins, 11 have gone for bonus points, and Scott has outscored his foes 151-40 with four pins thus far.
