Dowelling It In; Port Allegany’s Dowell Helps Lady Gators Past NoPo; NC tops KC In OT

ULYSSES, Pa. – Down 12 heading to the second quarter, Port Allegany turned to Kayleigha Dowell to get them back in the game, and she did just that scoring 15 of her way to a career-high 21 points as the Lady Gators rallied for a 52-41 win.

Dowell, whose previous career-best was 18 earlier this season, completed a double-double with 11 rebounds while adding four assists, three steals, and three blocks.

Her second-quarter explosion helped Port Allegany take a 30-22 halftime lead.

Ella Moses added nine points, five rebounds, and four assists for the Lady Gators with Brynn Evens adding eight points and Evin Stauffer six points and four steals.

                                      

Rebecca Martin had 14 points for Northern Potter with Kayden Brown adding 12 points.

NORTH CLARION 49, KARNS CITY 45, OVERTIME

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Madison McFarland scored five of her six points in overtime to help North Clarion come away with a 49-45 win at Karns City.

The teams were tied at 40 at the end of regulation before McFarland and Lily Homan teamed up in overtime to lift the She-Wolves to their second win of the year over the Lady Gremlins.

Homan added four of her team-high 17 points in the extra period after scoring four points in the fourth quarter to help North Clariob overcome a 33-27 deficit entering the final eight minutes of regulation.

                          

Emma McFarland played a key role in the comeback hitting a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers while ending with 11 points.

After trailing 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, Karns City took a 25-19 halftime lead behind eight points from Brooklyn Taylor and six from Emma Dailey.

Dailey had a career-high 21 points for the Lady Gremlins while finishing a double-double with 11 rebounds. Taylor added 11 points and Savanna Prescott chipped in eight.

Karns City played again without one of its top players Chloe Fritch, who missed her third straight game. Fritch had 28 points against North Clarion Jan. 18.

CAMERON COUNTY 43, SMETHPORT 31

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Aubree Lorenzo had 13 points and 11 rebounds to help Cameron County with a 43-31 win over Smethport in NTL play.

Delaney Rowan added 10 points and five rebounds for the Lady Raiders with Aaralyn Robinson chipping in six rebounds.

Elizabeth Hungiville had a strong double-double for Smethport with 15 points and 17 rebounds with Maddie Conn adding nine rebounds and Jaidyn Goodman five points and seven rebounds.

COUDERSPORT 28, OSWAYO VALLEY 22

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Hallie Rigas had 12 points to lead visiting Coudersport to a 28-22 win over Oswayo Valley in NTL action.

                                   

Sierra Myers added six points and eight rebounds for the Lady Falcons with Emma Chambers coming up with seven rebounds and four steals while adding six points.

Eva West had 11 points for Oswayo Valley with Brooke George adding six rebounds and two points and Charlotte Austin-Keech two points and five steals.

OTTO-ELDRED 52, GALETON 21

GALETON, Pa. – Building a 22-2 lead at the end of eight minutes, visiting Otto-Eldred cruises to a 52-21 win over Galeton in NTL action.

Katie Sheeler had a double-double for the Lady Terrors with 17 points and 10 steals while adding six rebounds.

Bri Heller added eight points and 11 rebounds in the win with Anna Merry also scoring eight points and coming up with four boards. Mackenzie Miller had six rebounds.

RIDGWAY 51, CLARION-LIMESTONE 26

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Jenna Kasmierski scored a career-high 30 points while grabbing nine rebounds and blocking five shots to help Ridgway to a 51-26 home win over Clarion-Limestone.

Gabby Amacher added 11 points and five rebounds for the Lady Elkers.

Lexi Coull paced Clarion-Limestone with eight points.

BROOKVILLE 60, A-C VALLEY 22

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Eden Wonderling had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead Brookville to a 60-22 home win over A-C Valley.

Kerstyn Davie added 12 points with Bentley Hughey chipping in eight tallies.

Mackenzie Parks had eight points for A-C Valley with Keira McVay adding seven points.

Maddy Deahrt had a team-high 10 rebounds for the Falcons and scored five points and Eva Snyder added six rebounds.
