BROOKVILLE, Pa. – District 9 released the 2021 baseball playoff brackets Thursday with championship games in Class 1A and Class 2A scheduled for Memorial Day, May 31, and the Class 4A title game slated for Wednesday, May 26.

All title games will be at Showers Field in DuBois.

Six teams have entered the Class 1A tournament, nine are in the Class 2A field, and two in the Class 4A field. DuBois, the lone Class 5A team in District 9, is in a tournament with District 6 being run by District 6. Punxsutawney, the lone Class 3A team, would play in a subregional bracket if it chooses to enter the playoffs.

The seedings in Class 1A, Class 2A, and Class 4A were determined by the District 9 Power Point formula (take the number of wins a team has and multiply it by 5 then add schedule points for each opponent regardless of the outcome – 1/2 a point for playing a Class 1A opponent, 1 point for playing a Class 2A opponent, 1 1/2 points for playing a Class 3A opponent, 2 points for playing a Class 4A opponent, 2 1/2 points for playing a Class 5A opponent, and 3 points for playing a Class 6A opponent – and divide by the number of games a team has played)
