District 10 Girls Soccer Semifinal Recaps: Cambridge Springs Wins in Shootout

   

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Cambridge Springs and Mercer were unable to find the net through 110 minutes of their District 10 Class 1A girls soccer semifinal on Wednesday.

After a pair of overtimes failed to yield a goal, the squads went to a shootout, which went in favor of the Blue Devils, 5-4, to send them to the D10 championship game.

Kylie Beck scored the winner in the shootout for Cambridge, while Maggie Braymer, Makenzie Yanc and Isobel Yasenchack also scored.

            

Devyn Bailey, Regan Dubiel, Alexa Graul and Mallory White scored for Mercer.

SENECA 2, WILMINGTON 1

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Samantha Hartman’s overtime goal lifted Seneca past Wilmington and into the District 10 Class 1A championship game.

Hartman’s goal came after her teammate, Emma Carrier, as well as Wilmington’s Reese Walker both scored in the second half.

Kendall Joint had both of Seneca’s assists.

                          

VILLA MARIA 2, GENERAL MCLANE 1

EDINBORO, Pa. – Villa Maria rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second half to push past General McLane and into the District 10 Class 2A championship game.

Mackenzie Fletcher’s goal off a corner kick from Alexa Tojaga proved to be the difference, this coming moments after Tojaga tied the game with a goal of her own.

General McLane’s Sydney Rotko found the back of the net after a scoreless first half to give the Lancers a brief 1-0 lead.

SLIPPERY ROCK 8, FRANKLIN 0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Hannah Burtner and Isabelle Willison scored two goals each as Slippery Rock rolled past Franklin and into the District 10 Class 2A title game.

The Rockets led 5-0 at halftime.

Olivia Rock, Amanda Lewis, Hannah Plunkard and Tori Hinchberger all scored for Slippery Rock as well.
