Dec. 23, 2021 D10 Boys/Girls Hoops: Fairview Boys Beat Meadville; Lakeview Girls Triumph

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Logan Frazao had a monster game with 38 points as Fairview earned an 81-57 non-region win over Meadville.

Fairview led 53-44 after the third quarter and went on to outscore the Bulldogs 28-13 over the final eight minutes.

James Sitter added 16 points and Jeremy Frazao eight for the Tigers.

Khalon Simmons had another big game for the Bulldogs with 32 points, while Lucas Luteran added nine.

OIL CITY 48, KEYSTONE 26

                                      

OIL CITY, Pa. – Oil City outscored Keystone by 19 points in the second and third quarters en route to a 48-26 win.

Cam VanWormer scored 12 points and Jake Hornbeck seven for the Oilers, while Sayyid Donald and Judias Johnson had seven each for the Oilers.

Bret Wingard and Zander McHenry had nine points each for Keystone.

CATHEDRAL PREP 57, PITTSBURGH CENTRAL CATHOLIC 50

ERIE, Pa. – Jake Sambuchino scored 20 points as Cathedral Prep picked up an impressive non-region win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic, 57-50.

                          

Nick Lydic added 12 points and Tavion Spencer 10 for the Ramblers, who went 18-of-27 from the free throw line en route to the win.

Dante Depante had 20 points for PCC.

COCHRANTON 62, CONNEAUT (Pa.) 33

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Landon Homa poured in 22 points as Cochranton earned a 62-33 win over Conneaut.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 12-points first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Chase Miller netted 16 points for the Cardinals while Dawson Carroll added 10.

Alex Nottingham led Conneaut with 12 points

BETHEL PARK 39, GROVE CITY 26

GROVE CITY, Pa .- Grove City jumped out to an early lead but Bethel Park rallied for a 39-26 win over the Eagles.

Landon Haggart and Josh Dreves scored six points each for Grove City.

                                   

Jaden Goodman scored 11 points and Ben Guffey eight for Bethel Park.

JAMESTOWN 51, MAPLEWOOD 46

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Cam Keyser scored 22 points to help Jamestown to its first win of the season, 51-46 over Maplewood.

Peyton McElhinny also had 16 points for the Muskies.

Logan Kennedy poured in 24 points for Maplewood.

KANE 40, YOUNGSVILLE 26</strong

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Andy Jekielek scored 16 points as Kane picked up its second win of the season with a 40-26 win over Youngsville.

Sam Lundeen had a double-double for the Wolves with 10 points and 10. Jekielek, Lundeen, Josh Greville, and Shane Ackley also had two steals each, with Ackley also pulled down six rebounds.

Jekielek earned Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game honors and talked about the win afterward:

Kobe Hendrickson led Youngsville with 10 points and Nathan Lucks added nine.

GENERAL MCLANE 80, TITUSVILLE 32

EDINBORO, Pa. – Danny Bruce led four General McLane players in double figures as the Lancers powered past Titusville, 80-32.

                                  

Logan Anderson had 14 points for the Lancers, while Jeremiah Schreiber and Dane Jukes added 10 each.

Andrew Wheeling had 10 points for Titusville.

GIRLS

NORTH EAST 52, COCHRANTON 42

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Alex Cozzens scored 22 points as North East earned a 52-42 win over Cochranton.

The Grapepickers built a seven-point halftime lead en route to the win while also getting 10 points from Maddie Hartner.

Carly Richter netted a team-high 17 points for Cochranton.

LAKEVIEW 57, HICKORY 33

STONEBORO, Pa. – Reese Gadsby connected for 18 points as Lakeview earned a 57-33 win over Hickory.

Amber Sefton added 14 points and Emma Marsteller seven for the Sailors

BUTLER 35, SLIPPERY ROCK 25

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – For the second-straight night, Slippery Rock dropped a tough game to a WPIAL foe, this time 35-25 to Butler.

Bronwyn McCoy scored 14 points for the Rockets, while Audrey Kura added six.

NORWIN 47, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 29

HERMITAGE, PA – Layke Fields scored 13 points for Kennedy Catholic, but the Golden Eagles fell to WPIAL power Norwin, 47-29.

Chloe Lukondi had a game-high 17 points for Norwin.

Paris Gilmore added six points for Kennedy Catholic.
