Dec. 17, 2021 D10 Girls’ Hoops: Cambridge Springs Powers Past Franklin, Villa Wins Opener in Vegas

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Maddie Yanc had another big game with 25 points as Cambridge Springs powered past Franklin in non-region action, 53-27.

Makenzie Yanc added 15 points for the Blue Devils, while Hailee Rodgers netted six.

Cambridge Springs outscored Franklin by 20 en route to the win.

Kirsten Hicks led Franklin with eight points.

VILLA MARIA 52, RODRIGUEZ (CALIF.) 38

                                      

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Carissa Dunham scored 21 points as Villa earned a 52-38 win over Rodriguez (Fairfield, Calif.) in the first round of the Tarkanian Classic.

Dunham also pulled down five rebounds in the win. Jayden McBride added 13 points and six rebounds and Daniela Shaughnessy added nine points.

MERCER 49, MEADVILLE 28

MERCER, Pa. – Julia Balaski scored 13 points as Mercer defeated Meadville, 49-28.

Claire Brown added 12 points for Mercer, while Delany Fisher added 10.

                          

Avery Phillips paced Meadville with 11 points.

WILMINGTON 48, ROCKY GROVE 18

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Lia Kraup scored 21 points as Wilmington netted a 48-18 win over Rocky Grove.

Madison Graham, Sarah Dieter and Kayah Brewer scored six points each for the Greyhounds.

Abby Williams scored 13 points for Rocky Grove.

RIDGWAY 47, EISENHOWER 14

RUSSELL, Pa. – Jenna Kasmierski scored 14 points as Ridgway topped Eisenhower 47-14 in a District 9/10 crossover game.

Ridgway built a 20-point (26-6) halftime lead en route to the win.

Julie Peterson chipped in with nine points for the Lady Elkers, while Payton Delhunty and Kristen Ellenberger netted six each.

Lilly Smyth had six points for Eisenhower.
