WARREN, Pa. – With some basketball teams getting set to start the 2020-2021 season this weekend, it’s time for the inaugural D9and10Sports.com District 9 preseason All-District girls’ basketball team powered by Hunter’s Station Golf Club in Tionesta.
The team is highlighted by a first-team All-District 9 returning player, Sarah Chambers of Coudersport.
Chambers, a senior, averaged 13.6 points, 11.1rebounds, 4.2 blocks, 3.7 steals, and 2.6 assists per game for the District 9 Class 1A champion Lady Falcons while also helping the team to the PIAA Quarterfinals at the time of the COVID-19 shutdown last spring.
The four remaining players on the team were all second-team All-District 9 selections a year ago including seniors Aslyn Pry of Moniteau, Hannah Lary of Bradford, and Emily Lauer of Keystone, and junior Dominika Logue of Union.
Pry averaged 14.6 points, 13.3 rebounds. 3.0 steals, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game for the District 9 Class 3A runner-up Lady Warriors, while Lary averaged 18.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 3.0 assists per game while hitting 66 3-pointers for the Lady Owls.
Lauer helped Keystone to a second-place finish in District 9 Class 2A and to the second round of the PIAA playoffs by averaging 15.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.5 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game, and Logue led Union with 17.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks per contest.
