A total of 16 District 9 and District 10 players earned were named to the PA Football News Coaches Select Class 1A All-State Team.
Four of those players – Reynolds’ Jalen Wagner (RB) and Nate Leksell (OT), as well as Port Allegany’s Blaine Moses (MLB), the D9and10Sports.com’s District 9 Player of the Year, and Keystone’s Tyler Albright (SB/HB) were first-team choices.
Port Allegany won the District 9 championship, as did Reynolds in District 10, with Port beating Reynolds in the PIAA quarterfinals.
Earning second-team honors were Port Allegany’s Noah Archer (Offensive Athlete) and Miska Young (DE), Reynolds’ Alex Winklevoss (OT) and Kolton Wilkinson (Center), Eisenhower’s Benji Bauer (RB), Kris Bunk (TE), and Caleb Penley (OLB), Brockway’s Alex Carlson (WR) and Reese Yahner (G) and Redbank Valley’s Tate Minich (SB/HB) and Curwenville quarterback Danny McGarry.
Brockway was the D9 runner-up and Eisenhower the D10 runner-up.
Steel High’s Alex Erby was named Player of the Year and Union’s Kim Niedbala Coach of the Year.
