SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Shane Thompson fired six no-hit innings and Slippery Rock scored six runs in the sixth inning to put away Fort LeBoeuf, 10-0

Brett Galcik had an RBI triple in the sixth for Slippery Rock, while Sal Mineo had an RBI single, Brody Galcik an RBI single, and a two-run single off the bat of Luke Allison to end the game.

Thompson was dominant, striking out nine and walking just two, throwing 58 of his 88 pitches for strikes.

   

                  

Allison, Thompson, Walker Vogan, Brady Galcik, Ethan Drushel, and Ryan Montgomery had two hits apiece for the Rockets.

Dan Caldwell suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 4 ⅔ innings.

(1) CATHEDRAL PREP 6, (8) GENERAL MCLANE 1

ERIE, Pa. – Jacob Engel tossed 6 ⅔ innings of one-hit baseball as top seed Cathedral Prep took care of business with a 6-1 victory over No. 8 General McLane.

Engel struck out 11, walked two, and allowed just one unearned run, throwing 56 of his 86 pitches for strikes.

                          

The Ramblers struck for single runs in the first and second innings and two each in the fourth and sixth.

Jason Fultz got the scoring going with an RBI single in the first, while John Koshan homered in the fourth inning. Patrick Sullivan, Luke Costello, and Cole Constable also drove in runs for the Ramblers.

Ross Morrow took the loss for GM, allowing four runs (three earned) in 31/3 innings.

With the win, Prep advances to play No. 5 seed Meadville in the semifinals

               

(5)MEADVILLE 5, (4) GROVE CITY 0, 8 innings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Scoreless for seven innings, Meadville struck for five runs in the eighth inning to earn a 5-0 quarterfinal win over Grove City.

In the eighth for Meadville, Rocco Tartaglione had an RBI single, which was followed two batters later by a bases-clearing triple off the bat of Owen Garvey. Brighton Anderson brought in Garvey with an RBI single to cap the inning.

Brady Walker was dominant in getting the complete-game win. The Bulldog struck out eight and allowed just three hits without issuing a walk.

Dylan McElinney matched Walker for seven innings. McEhlinney gave two runs (both earned) as Ethan Orr came on in relief in the eighth. McEhlinney allowed just four hits, struck out four, and walked one.

Anderson finished with a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.

Hayden McCreadie, Landon Haggart, and Michael Earman had Grove City’s hits.

(6) HARBOR CREEK 11, (3) CORRY 5

ERIE, Pa. – Harbor Creek scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back in an 11-5 win over Corry.

Brady Rzodkiewicz had a big hit for Harbor Creek, an RBI double.
