Cranberry’s Watson, DuBois’ Delp, St. Marys’ Young Throw Gems to Help their Teams to Softball Wins

SENECA, Pa. – Reyna Watson threw a four-hit shutout to lead Cranberry past visiting Rocky Grove, 2-0.

Watson walked three and hit a batter while striking out 11.

Denali Wenner was 1-for-2 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI to pace the Cranberry offense while Cassie Scarbrough went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Zoe Cresswell was 1-for-3 with a double for Rocky Grove.

   

                  

Elizabeth Mawhinney took the loss for Rocky Grove going six innings allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five.

DUBOIS 15, BRADFORD 0, 4 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Emma Delp tossed a four-inning no-hitter to help DuBois to a 15-0, four-inning victory over visiting Bradford.

Delp walked seven and struck out 11.

Morgan Pasternak hit a home run for the Lady Beavers while going 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

                          

Alexis Pfeufer and Bree Weible each had doubles in the win, and Gabby Gulvas tripled.

Pfeufer was 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, Weible was 1-for-1 with two walks, a run scored, and an RBI, and Gulvas was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs.

Lynx Lander added three runs scored while going 1-for-2 with two walks, and Teagan Runyan, Audrey Hale, and Delp each scored twice with Hale going 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI.

Kalie Dixon walked twice for Bradford but took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 12 runs, eight earned, on eight hits and nine walks while striking out two.

               

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 14, BROCKWAY 4

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Kali Franklin was dialed in at the plate for DuBois Central Catholic in a 14-4 win at Brockway.

Franklin went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, four runs scored, and two RBIs.

She was part of the top part of the DCC order that went a combined 9 of 14 with eight runs scored and six RBIs.

Kayley Risser added a 3-for-5 day with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Jessy Frank was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Rose Whipple smacked a home run in the contest going 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, Lydia Morgan was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI, Melia Mitskavich was 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Marina Hanes was 3-for-3 with a run scored.

Morgan got the win going six innings allowing an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out 12. Lexi Berta gave up three unearned runs in an inning of work allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two.

Meeca Smith was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI for Brockway.

Gabbyt Hertel took the loss going seven innings allowing 14 runs, nine earned, on 17 hits and a walk.

ST. MARYS 18, BROOKVILLE 0, 6 INNINGS

            

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Gianna Surra drove in four runs to lift St. Marys to an 18-0, six-inning win at Brookville.

Surra was 3-for-5 with a run scored, while Kara Hanslovan went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Kendall Young was 4-for-6 with a double and an RBI, Lindsey Reiter went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, Molly Hanslovan was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, Rose Deprater was 4-for-6 with two runs scored, Oliva Eckles was 3-for-6 with a double, two RBIs,. And two runs scored, and Jianna Gerg was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.

Young threw a six-inning one-hitter. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out 10.

Tory McKinney had the lone hit for Brookville.

Alyssa Tollini took the loss going six innings allowing 18 runs, 10 earned, on 23 hits, two walks, and a hit batter.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 16, COUDERSPORT 6, 6 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Emily Mourer and Lucy Klawuhn each hit home runs as Elk County Catholic raced past visiting Coudersport, 16-6, at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Klawuhn was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored with Mourer going 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Gabby Weisner scored three times for the Crusaders while going 1-for-2 with two walks, Lydia Anderson walked twice and scored twice, Syd Alexander went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Cailtin Vollmer was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Mourer got the win going four innings of scoreless ball. She gave up four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Raegan Weaver gave up six earned runs in two innings of work. She allowed five hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out one.

Sierra Myers was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs for Coudersport with Madyson Dubots-Angood going 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Also for the Lady Falcons, Marah Fowler was 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Ryelle Black took the loss going five innings allowing 16 runs, 10 earned, on 12 hits, eight walks, and a hit batter while striking out six.
