
KANE, Pa. – Clarion’s Kameron Kerle and Bradford’s Jake Franz won District 9 individual golf titles Saturday at the Kane Country Club.
Kerle took home the Class 2A crown with a two-day total of 152 a shot ahead of Moniteau’s Jacob Felsing, while Franz won the District 8/9 3A title with a two-day total of 150, nine shots better than Allderice’s Benito Taromina.
Joining Kerle as qualifiers for the PIAA 2A championships being held at the Penn State Blue and White Courses Oct. 17-18 were Felsing, Clarion’s Devon Lauer (154) and Lucas Mitrosky (161), Moniteau’s Dawson Wallace (165), and Cranberry’s Cayden Baker (167).
Franz and Taromina were the only PIAA qualifiers in 3A with Taromina beating St. Marys’ Vinnie Lenze on the first playoff hole after the two tied at 159. Taromina shot par on Par-4 hole No. 1 while Lenze bogeyed the hole.

Kerle trailed Felsing by five shots after Wednesday’s first round but shot a 74 Saturday to Felsing’s 80.
Franz trailed Taromina by a shot after shooting a 76 Wednesday but shot a 74 to Taromina’s 84 Saturday.
