MEADVILLE, Pa. – Mark Schweickert struck out nine and allowed just one unearned run in 6 2/3 innings to lead Allegheny to a 7-3 win over Penn State Behrend.

Schweickert did walk four and surrendered seven hits, but was able to dance out of trouble to earn his first collegiate win on 109 total pitches.

The Gators tallied runs in the first, second, and sixth innings, and carried a 3-1 lead into the seventh-inning stretch. In the bottom of the seventh, however, Allegheny put a crooked number on the scoreboard and took a comfortable 7-1 advantage.
