CASH Volleyball Forfeits PIAA Quarterfinal Match Against DuBois Due To Positive COVID-19 Cases

Conneaut Athletic Director John Acklin confirmed that the Eagles’ volleyball team has two positive cases of COVID-19, forcing them to forfeit Saturday’s PIAA Class 3A quarterfinal matchup against DuBois.

The semifinal match for DuBois will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

For Conneaut, it’s a disappointing end to a season in which they finish with a 16-3 record.

The Conneaut Area School District released the following statement:

“Conneaut Area Senior High School will be closed due to positive COVID-19 Cases. “Also the CASH girls’ volleyball team will begin a 14 day quarantine immediately due to positive cases here at CASH. Therefore, there will be NO PIAA State Quarter-final match against DuBois High School on Saturday Nov. 14 and our season ends on such a negative note after experiencing such a terrific year going 16-2 and the 2 losses were by 15-13 scores in game 5. We are still very proud of you Lady Eagles! CASH will be closed Nov 12th through the 14th and will resume as ABABC starting 11/16.”
