
HYDE, Pa. – A pair of District 9 players hit the 1,000-point plateau less than four miles apart Monday as Clearfield junior Cole Miller and Brockway senior Selena Buttery both accomplished the feat.
Miller reached the milestone at home in a 61-45 Mountain League loss to Bellefonte, while Buttery accomplished her feat at nearby Curwensville High School in a 62-24 road win over the Lady Tide.
BUTTERY SECOND LADY ROVER TO 1,000 THIS SEASON
Buttery became the second Brockway player to hit 1,000 points this season and the sixth in school history when she scored 33 points in the win over Curwensville giving her 1,002 in her career.
Buttery, who joined teammates Danielle Wood in the 1,000-point club, completed a double-double with 10 rebounds while adding four steals and three blocked shots.
The milestone came one game after she recorded another milestone with 1,000 career rebounds putting her on a shortlist of District 9 players with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.
Buttery talked to Chris Rossetti about her accomplishment.
Wood also hit a milestone Monday night dishing out 11 assists to give her 278 in her career setting the school record which was previously held by Sherri Lias (1990-93).
Wood also had a double-double with 14 points while also chipping in three steals.
Ciera Morelli added five rebounds, five steals, and six points in the win, while Madelyn Schmader contributed 12 rebounds and two points.
Skylar Pentz led Curwensville with seven points.

Miller scored 16 points to become the 12th Clearfield player over 1,000 career points. He has 1,003 after Monday night.

Blair Eckley-Jones paced Bellefonte with 15 points with Ty Kroell adding 14 and Gannon Brungard 11.
