DuBOIS, Pa. – The Punxsutawney Lady Chucks are headed to the PIAA Class 3A softball semifinals after a 6-4 win over Cambria Heights on Thursday.
The Lady Chucks jumped out to a 6-0 lead and had to fend off a pair of Cambria threats late in the game to advance.
Punxsutawney will face either Mt. Pleasant (7-1) or Avonworth (7-3) – Mt. Pleasant was leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, with the game in a rain delay at press time – on Monday with a trip to the state championship at stake.
