SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Behind an unofficial 30 kills from Korrin Burns, Clarion advanced to its second straight PIAA Class 1A volleyball championship with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-21) semifinal win over Bishop Canevin.
The Lady Cats trailed 20-14 in the first set before rallying back to take the set with a 25-23 win. After a dominant second set, Clarion again found itself behind, 15-11, in the third but a 6-0 run put the Lady Cats on top and they closed out the sweep with the 25-21 win.
Clarion will face Sacred Heart Academy, a 3-0 winner over Canton in the other semifinal, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cumberland Valley High School for the Class 1A state title. D9and10Sports will have an audio-only broadcast of the championship match.
