CLARION-LIMESTONE 9, CRANBERRY 0
CLARION-LIMESTONE 18, FOREST AREA 0, 3 innings

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Clarion-Limestone put together a dominant pair of games on Saturday, beating Cranberry 9-0 and Forest Area 18-0 in three innings.

In the win over Cranberry, Tommy Smith and Logan Lutz combined on a one-hitter. Smith went 4 ⅔ innings, allowing one hit, striking out seven, and walking four. Lutz came on and tossed 2 ⅓ hitless innings.

Offensively, the top five hitters in the C-L lineup all had multiple hits. Lutz was 2-for-3 with three runs, Smith 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, Bryson Huwar 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs, Jordan Hesdon 2-ford-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs, and Jase Ferguson 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

   

                  

Kenny Lavrich was the losing pitcher, going 4 ⅓ innings and allowing six runs on eight hits while striking out five.

In the game against Forest Area, C-L scored 17 runs in the second inning.

Smith, Huwar, and Aiden Coulson drove in two runs each, as C-L also took advantage of seven walks and four errors. They needed just nine hits to score their 18 runs, as Nick Aaron crossed the plate three times.

Kohen Kemmer (two innings) and Ferguson (one inning) shared the pitching duties, combining to allow just one hit while striking out three.

CURWENSVILLE 4, JUNIATA VALLEY 0

                          

ALEXANDRIA, Pa. – Jake Mullins fired a three-hit shutout to lead Curwensville to a 4-0 win over Juniata Valley.

Mullins struck out seven and walked two, throwing 66 of his 98 pitches for strikes.

Offensively, the Golden Tide scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Shane Sunderlin delivered a two-run double in the fourth and Thad Butler a two-run single in the fifth. Mullins also went 1-for-3, scoring a pair of runs.

Bryant Allison struck out 14 in 6 ⅔ innings in a losing effort. He allowed four hits and four runs (two earned).

               

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 2
DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 11, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Elk County Catholic and DuBois Central Catholic split a doubleheader on Saturday.

In the first game, David Anderson’s RBI single in the fifth inning broke a 2-2 and proved to be the difference.

The two teams traded runs in the first four innings. Ben Reynolds had the other RBI for Elk County Catholic, while Aiden Snowberger was 0-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for DCC.

Ben Paul was credited with the win for Elk County Catholic, tossing two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit and one walk.

Brandin Anderson was the losing pitcher, allowing three runs (two earned) in five innings, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out five.

Game two was all DCC, as the Cardinals scored 10 runs in the first inning.

Snowberger, Carter Kosko, and Cole Sansom drove in two runs each for DCC, with Snowberger, Brayden Fox, and Kosko collecting two hits each. The Cardinals also took advantage of five ECC errors.

Kosko got the start for DCC, allowing two runs in 3 ⅔ innings with four strikeouts and two hits allowed. Fox came on in relief and tossed 3 ⅓ scoreless frames, allowing just one hit and striking out a pair.

Tommy Slay was the losing pitcher, allowing 10 runs (one earned) in 1 ⅓ innings.

            

Dom Zambanini belted a two-run home run for the Crusaders.

JOHNSONBURG 4, MONITEAU 3

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Johnsonburg built a 4-1 lead and held off a seventh-inning rally to earn a 4-3 win over Moniteau.

Connor Ealy’s RBI single cut the lead to 4-2 in the seventh, and Ealy came around to score on an error to make it a one-run game with two outs. Aiden Zimmerman was able to induce a groundout to end the game and preserve the win for the Rams.

Luke Zimmerman got the win, going four innings and allowing one run (unearned) on two hits, striking out four. Aiden Zimmerman allowed two runs (one earned) in his three innings of work on five hits, striking out three.

Offensively, Aiden Zimmerman was 3-for-4 with an RBI, with Caden Smiley and Collin Porter driving in one run each for the Rams. Porter and Dom Allegretto and Luke Zimmerman had two hits each for the Rams.

Dawson Wallace went the distance in defeat for Moniteau, scattering 11 hits, striking out five, and walking one.

Branson Carson had an RBI triple for the Warriors.

KANE 8, BROCKWAY 3

KANE, Pa. – Kane built an 8-0 lead after two innings on its way to an 8-3 win over Brockway.

The Wolves scored six runs in the second inning. Harley Morris got the scoring started in the frame with an RBI single, which was followed by an RBI single by Shane Ackley. An error allowed the third run of the inning to come across. Elijah Everett and Curt Barner hit back-to-back fielder’s choices that brought two more runs across.

Justin Peterson and Barner had two RBIs apiece for the Wolves, while Ackley had two hits and scored two runs.

Morris allowed just one run in his three innings of work to earn the win. He struck out 11 and allowed just three hits and four walks.

Dylan Bash suffered the loss for Brockway, allowing eight runs (six earned) in three innings.

Bash had an RBI double for the Rovers.

SMETHPORT 11, GALETON 0, 5 innings

GALETON, Pa. – Noah Lent drove in a pair of runs as Smethport earned an 11-0, five-inning win over Galeton.

The Hubbers scored four runs in both the second and fourth innings while taking advantage of six errors and six walks by Galeton.

Alex Ognen, Alex Cole, and Cole Szuba all drove in a run for the Hubbers, with John Adamosk collecting two hits.

Lent tossed three hitless innings with five strikeouts, while Brenton McDowell had two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Gavin Sykora took the loss, allowing five runs (one earned) in two innings.

BELLEFONTE 8, ST. MARYS 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Peyton Vancas fired a seven-hit shutout as Bellefonte earned an 8-0 win over St. Marys.

Vancas scattered seven hits and struck out eight without issuing a walk.

Triston Heckman had a big game for Bellefonte, going 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs.

Christian Coudriet suffered the loss, allowing seven runs in four innings on seven hits, striking out five.

Carter Price had a pair of hits for the Dutch.
