UNION CITY 13, ROCKY GROVE 2, 5 innings

UNION CITY, Pa. – Kamryn Gates-Bowersox homered, had three hits, and scored three runs and Cyaira Zielinski was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and three runs as Union City powered to a 13-2, 5 inning win over Rocky Grove. 

The Bears did all of their damage in the first three innings, scoring four in the first, six in the second and three in the third. 

   

                  

Emylee Zielinski was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, while Jordan Brozell had a double and a pair of RBIs. 

Abby Tingley got the win, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out nine. 

BASEBALL

UNION CITY 16, SENECA 6, 6 innings 

UNION CITY, Pa. – A 6-run third inning helped propel the Union City offense en route to a 16-6 win over Seneca. 

                          

Shane Uber tripled and drove in a pair of runs for the Bears. Bryce Drayer was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, while Daithin Kent was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs and Steven Reed was 3-for-4 and scored three times. 

Uber got the complete game win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits, striking out nine. 

WEST MIDDLESEX 10, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 4

CONNEAUT, OHIO – Eric Nehlen went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and three RBIs, including a 2-run bomb as West Middlesex beat Conneaut (Ohio) 10-4. 

               

The Big Reds scored in every inning but the first. 

Julian Trott, Devin Gruver and Derrick Zappa all had RBIs as well for the Big Reds. 

Gruver got the win, tossing four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out two. 

Zach Rice went 3-for-4 for Conneaut, while Jake Wiley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. 

Alex Kennedy took the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) in six innings, on eight hits, striking out four. 

MERCER 14, REYNOLDS 12, 8 innings

MERCER, Pa. – Troy Bachman belted a walk-off 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to lift Mercer to a wild 14-12 win over Reynolds. 

Reynolds scored three runs in the top half of the inning to break the 9-9 tie, but Mercer rallied for five in the bottom half of the inning. 

Tristan Barr and Cole Doolin also had a pair of RBIs each for the Mustangs, while Julian Lawrence scored three runs. 

Mercer also took advantage of six Reynolds errors. 

            

Patrick Belback and Marlin Jones drove in two runs each for the Raiders. 

Lawrence got the win for Mercer, while Jared Wyant took the loss.
