FRANKLIN 20, GROVE CITY 13

GROVE CITY, Pa. – A 10-run third inning and an eight-RBI game from Kyle Alexander helped lift Franklin to a wild 20-13 win over Grove City.

The Knights pounded out 20 hits in the win.

Carson Wible had an RBI single in the big inning for the Knights, while Kyle Alexander had a two-run single, as did Luke Guth and Caleb Doyle, with Wible’s second RBI base hit of the inning and another two-run single off the bat of Aidan McCracken capping the inning and giving Franklin a 16-10 lead.

   

                  

Alexander finished 4-for-5 with a home run, double, and two runs to go with those eight RBIs, while McCracken drove in three runs and Guth, Doyle, and Wible two RBIs. each.

Ethan Nightingale was credited with the win, going 3 ⅓ innings and allowing four runs on five hits, striking out eight, and walking three.

For Grove City, which led 10-6 before the fifth inning, Michael Earman was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, while Luke Tubbs, Hayden McCreadie, and Kamden Martin drove in two runs each.

Ethan Orr took the loss, allowing four runs in 1 ⅔ innings.

SAEGERTOWN 10, MAPLEWOOD 0, 6 innings

                          

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Landon Caldwell fired five shutout innings as Saegertown earned a 10-0, six-inning win over Maplewood.

Caldwell allowed three hits, striking out two and walking three.

Saegertown scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the sixth to close the game out. Caldwell, Henry Shaffer, Zach Balog, and Joe Grundy all had RBIs for the Panthers, who also took advantage of four Maplewood errors.

Stuart Hochstetler suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in three innings, scattering five hits.

               

FAIRVIEW 6, TITUSVILLE 4

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Fairview scored four runs in the fourth inning en route to a 6-4 win over Titusville.

Offensively for Fairview, Aari Fox was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Vincent Campoli was 2-for-2 with an RBI double and Aiden Rubliotta 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Sean Houston got the win, scattering six hits and allowing four runs (two earned) over 6 ⅔ innings, striking out six and walking one.

Hunter Thomas took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) over five innings on six hits, striking out eight, and walking one.

Thomas and Ashton Burleigh drove in two runs each for the Rockets.

WEST MIDDLESEX 9, WILMINGTON 7

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Julian Trott and Richie Preston drove in two runs each and Kyle Hurley belted a solo home run as West Middlesex beat Wilmington, 9-7.

The Big Reds built a 9-5 lead, with Wilmington cutting the deficit to 9-7 in the sixth, but the Greyhounds were unable to get any closer.

Preston got the win, going five innings and allowing four runs (three earned), scattering five hits, striking out three and walking four.

            

Shane Book went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for Wilmington, while Dom Serafino and Tyler Mikulin had two hits apiece for the Greyhounds.

Rocky Serafino suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in two innings on four hits, striking out two.

YOUNGSVILLE 10, EISENHOWER 0, 5 innings

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville built an 8-0 lead after two innings on its way to an 8-0, five-inning win over Eisenhower, their second win over the Knights this season.

Nate Lucks, Talon Mesel, and Matt DeSimone all had a big hand in helping the Eagles build their big early lead. All three doubled, with Lucks going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Mesel was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and DeSimone was 2-for-3 with three runs.

Wyatt Dalrymple, Ethan Senz, and Lane Buccardo also had one RBI each for the Eagles.

Lucks was dominant on the mound, tossing 4 ⅔ shutout innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Cole Chapman and Derek Childs had Eisenhower’s hits

MERCER 19, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 5, 6 innigns

CONNEAUT, OHIO – Mercer built a 12-0 lead after three innings on its way to a 19-5, six-inning win over Conneaut (Ohio).

Offensively for Mercer, Alex Dupuis was 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, Troy Bachman 4-for-4 with two RBIs, Jake Mattocks 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs, and Chris Oehlbek 1-for-2 with three RBIs.

Bachman got the win, tossing three scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out five.

Zach Rice was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Conneaut.

Kiefer Mandagelo took the loss, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) in five innings.

CATHEDRAL PREP 11, GENERAL MCLANE 3

EDINBORO, Pa. – An eight-run first inning helped Cathedral Prep to an 11-3 win over General McLane.

Maddox Stadler and Luke Costello had two hits and three RBIs each, while Cole Constable belted a solo home run. Patrick Sullivan was also 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Stadler went five innings to get the win, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Henry Salvo suffered the loss, allowing six runs in ⅓ of an inning. Brandon Dedrick went six innings for GM, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Ross Morrow had the lone RBI for the Lancers.

UNION CITY 4, IROQUOIS 1

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Miles McCaslin fired a complete-game five-hitter as Union City earned a 4-1 win over Iroquois.

McCaslin struck out seven without issuing a walk, throwing 54 of his 76 pitches for strikes.

The Bears scored a pair of runs in both the second and third innings, as Daithin Kent and Matthew Bennett each had RBIs.

Ben Burkhardt took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in four innings on five hits, striking out nine, and walking three.

Burkhardt also had an RBI for Iroquois.

SHARPSVILLE 17, JAMESTOWN 0, 3 innings

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Sharpsville scored 11 runs in the first inning on its way to a 17-0, three-inning win over Jamestown.

Stephen Tarnoci was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Blue Devils and also tossed three perfect innings with seven strikeouts.

James Thomas led the big offensive effort for the Blue Devils, going 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, while Dylan Candiotti was 1-for-3 with three RBIs, Luke Distler 2-for-3 with four runs and an RBI and Brock Lenzi 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs.

GREENVILLE 8, LAKEVIEW 5

STONEBORO, Pa. – Collin Wilson homered and drove in a pair of runs as Greenville powered past Lakeview, 8-5.

The Trojans built an 8-1 lead en route to the win. Nick Solderich was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Jack Strausser got the win, allowing five runs (two earned) in 5 ⅔ innings, striking out five and walking three.

Cody Fagley, Ted Shillito, and Brody Snyder all drove in runs for Lakeview.

MERCYHURST PREP 3, CORRY 0

CORRY, Pa. – Jake Manendo fired a two-hit shutout as Mercyhurst Prep beat Corry, 7-0.

Manendo struck out seven without issuing a walk and needed just 76 pitches to complete the shutout.

The Lakers scored all three of their runs in the top of the seventh, with Manendo driving in two runs on a double.

John Albers tossed five shutout innings for Corry, allowing just one hit and striking out eight. Zack Martin took the loss, allowing three runs in two innings.

FORT LEBOEUF 5, WARREN 3

WARREN, Pa. – Ethan Wilcox went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs as Fort LeBoeuf earned a 5-3 win over Warren.

The Bison built a 5-1 lead en route to the win, as Adam Jarrett also drove in a run, while Aiden Lesik tripled and scored two runs.

Patrick Craft tossed 6 ⅔ innings to get the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out seven, and walking one.

J.T. Blum was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Warren, with Paul Smith also driving in a run.

Eric Dippold took the loss, going six innings and allowing five runs (three earned), scattering seven hits, striking out six, and walking four.
