April 26 softball recaps

KARNS CITY 3, ARMSTRONG 1

KITTANNING, Pa. – Ashley Fox’s two-run, two-out line-drive single to center in the top of the seventh lifted visiting Karns City past Armstrong, the 2021 PIAA Class 5A runner-up, 3-1.

The Lady Gremlins trailed 1-0 going to the sixth but tied the game on a Jess Dunn single.

Then, in the seventh, two-out lightning struck.

Ashley Walker walked with Nicole Taylor running for her, and Jada Polczynski singled. Both runners moved up 60 feet on a wild pitch, and Fox delivered the go-ahead single.
