ROCKY GROVE 4, COCHRANTON 1

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Reece Henderson tossed 5 ⅓ shutout innings as Rocky Grove earned a 4-1 win over Cochranton. 

Henderson was dominant in his outing, striking out 13 and allowing just three hits. He also had a sacrifice fly in the first inning to get the Orioles on the board. 

   

                  

A Wyatt Barzak RBI single tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth, but Rocky Grove took the lead back in the bottom of the inning Travis Knupp base hit. 

The Orioles plated two more runs in the sixth on an Aaron Burkhardt RBI double and an error. 

Barzak took the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) in his five innings of work, allowing four hits, striking out five, and walking five. 

WARREN 4, GENERAL MCLANE 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – Ben Berdine tossed 5 ⅔ shutout innings as Warren blanked General McLane, 4-0. 

                          

Berdine struck out nine, allowing four hits and three walks in his victory. Ben Sowa completed the shutout, tossing 1 ⅓ innings and allowing one hit. 

The Dragons plated one run in the first on a James Swanson RBI groundout and three more in the third. 

Owen Blum’s RBI single made it 2-0 and a pair of GM miscues allowed two more runs to score. Alex Borger also had a pair of hits for the Dragons, while Micah Passmore doubled. 

Alex Leehan took the loss for the Lancers, allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out one. 

               

WILMINGTON 11, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 1, 5 innings

CONNEAUT, OHIO – Wilmington scored seven runs in the first inning en route to an 11-0, 5-inning victory over Conneaut (Ohio). 

Dom Serafino hit a 2-run double in the first, while Dylan Batley, Colby Lewis, and Cole McAllister also drove in runs in the frame. 

Issac Schleich (3 innings) and Garrett Heller (2 innings) combined on the shutout, allowing just four hits while striking out nine. 

CORRY 9, FORT LEBOEUF 4

WATERFORD, Pa. – Max Rimdzius went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as Corry powered past Fort LeBoeuf, 9-4. 

The Beavers scored four runs in the sixth inning to help put the game away. 

Logan Joncas got the win, tossing 4 ⅓ innings and allowing three runs (two earned) and striking out five. 

Lucas Dyne drove in a pair of runs for the Beavers, as did John Albers. 

Ryan Welka went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Bison, while Luke Kingen was 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

            

Ethan Wilcox took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) in three innings. 

EISENHOWER 13, MAPLEWOOD 2, 5 innings

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Jared Beers had three hits and three RBIs, including a home run, as Eisenhower earned a 13-2, 5-inning win over Maplewood. 

The Knights led 4-0 and broke the game wide open with a 9-run fourth inning. 

A number of Eisenhower players had big days at the plate. Alex Kemery was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Owen Trumbull was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Dillon Benson 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in. Kael Hunt was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

Trumbull got the win, allowing just two unearned runs on three hits with nine punchouts. 

MCDOWELL 13, ERIE 0, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – McDowell scored seven runs in the first inning on its way to a 13-0, 5-inning win over Erie. 

Jackson Hower, Sam Crowley, Nate Hayes, and Matt Demski all had RBIs in the first inning. 

Demski led the way with three RBIs, while Crowley and Dan Snyder drove in a pair each. 

Gavin Snyder threw three hitless innings for the Trojans, striking out five and walking two. 

GROVE CITY 4, GREENVILLE 3

GROVE CITY, Pa. – A wild pitch in the sixth inning allowed the go-ahead run to cross the plate in Grove City’s 4-3 victory over Greenville. 

Greenville took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third, but the Eagles tied it in the bottom of the frame. 

A 2-run double off the bat of Josh Ickes gave Greenville a 2-0 lead in the second inning. 

Landon Haggart’s RBI double in the bottom of the third tied the game. 

Dylan McElhinney got the win for the Eagles. McElhinney went 6 ⅔ innings, allowing three unearned runs on five hits, striking out eight. 

Ickes took the loss for Greenville, allowing three runs (one earned) in 3 ⅔ innings of work. 

HICKORY 9, SLIPPERY ROCK 4, 8 innings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Hickory tied the game in the seventh inning when Nick Osborne drew a bases-loaded walk and scored six runs in the eighth to earn a 9-4 win over Hickory. 

Clay Wiesen broke the game open in the eighth, clearing the bases with his 3-run triple. 

Joey Fazzone and Josh Distler also drove in runs for the Hornets. 

Shane Thompson, Sal Mineo, and Ryan Montgomery all had two hits for the Rockets. 

Osborne earned the win for Hickory. He went seven-plus innings, allowing four runs (three earned), allowing nine hits and striking out five.

Nick Kingerski suffered the loss for Slippery Rock, allowing six runs in his inning of work.  

NORTH EAST 7, TITUSVILLE 0 

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Aden Bulger tossed a complete game shutout as North East beat Titusville, 7-0. 

Bulger struck out seven and allowed just three hits and two walks. 

The Grapepickers scored all of their runs in the first three innings, including three in the second and three more in the third. 

Owen Kemp drove in a pair of runs, as North East took advantage of nine Titusville errors. Tyler Wittman added a pair of hits for the Grapepickers. 

Garrett Knapp took the loss for Titusville, allowing seven runs (three earned), striking out a pair. 

SOFTBALL

UNION CITY 15, EISENHOWER 0, 3 innings

UNION CITY, Pa. – Union City scored 10 runs in the second inning on its way to a 15-0, 3-inning win over Eisenhower. 

Eliza Reynolds and Sydney Gilbert had three hits and two RBIs apiece for the Bears. All three of Reynolds’ hits were doubles. 

Cyaira Zielinski, Emylee Zielinski, and Jordyn Brozell all drove in two runs apiece for the Bears. 

Abby Tingley tossed three perfect innings on the mound, striking out seven. 

MCDOWELL 19, HARBOR CREEK 5, 5 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Maggie Hoover went 3-for-4 with a triple and five RBIs as McDowell beat Harbor Creek 19-5 in five innings. 

The Trojans scored five runs in the first inning, three in the second, six in the third, and five in the fourth. 

Alyssa Draghi matched Hoover with five RBIs, including a double. 

Ally Leonard, Lexxie Biel, and Alivia Soule all drove in two runs each for the Trojans. 

SLIPPERY ROCK 9, OIL CITY 3

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Paige Gresgott went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, while Sam Meredith and Ciana D’Antoni drove in two runs each in Slippery Rock’s 9-3 win over Oil City. 

The Rockets got all the runs they needed in the first inning, plating four. 

Kinzie Miller went four innings on the mound, allowing three runs and striking out seven. Gresgott tossed three hitless innings, striking out six. 

Maddie Wenner went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Oilers. 

FRANKLIN 5, GROVE CITY 2

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Brandy Atwell collected three hits as Franklin powered past Grove City, 5-2. 

ChristaRose Hawke and Kirsten Hicks had two hits apiece for the Knights. Hawke also drove in a run, while Atwell had a triple among her three hits. 

Logan Jones had three hits for Grove City, while Rylie Eaton drove in a pair of runs. 

Atwell went five innings on the mound, allowing two runs and striking out five.
