Q&A

Q: What was the first sport you played? Why did you play it? Did you like it?
A: The first sport I played when I was little was soccer. Just about every kid in my area played soccer when they were little. I wouldn’t say I didn’t like it everyone knows I don’t enjoy running so that’s probably why I never stuck with it.

Q: What is the most important factor in you being successful in high school athletics?
A: Some of the important factors are my family and friends that always support me and everyone that has helped me, especially my coaches over the years and the others that have helped me with my hitting and pitching.

Q: What is your favorite non-sports “go-to” activity?
A: My favorite non-sports go-to activities are firefighting and hunting. Those are two of my favorite things and they allow me to step away from sports into a different environment.

Q: You could meet one sports figure, living or dead (1) who would it be and (2) what is the first thing you would ask them?
A: If I could meet any sports figure, it would be Jennie Finch. That is probably the sports figure that every pitcher wants to meet but I would ask her how she kept it consistent and manage to keep hitters off balance all the time. For instance, she managed to strike out one of the greatest major league baseball players of all time.

Q: What is your favorite sport and if you could change one thing about your favorite sport, what would it be?
A: My favorite sport is softball and if I could change one thing, I would want everyone to have the same competitive juices that I have. Some people aren’t as competitive, and I wish everyone had that energy and was always very eager about it.

Q: If you could eat any food in the world right now, what would it be?
A: If I could eat any food in the world right now it would be steak and potatoes with a vegetable

Q: What is your ideal vacation spot?
A: My ideal vacation spot is at the Outer Banks

Q: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the question/answer?
A: What is one of your favorite memories from your high school sports? One of my favorite memories is when we would all arm wrestle each other in the dugout to see who would win.
