Q&A With MaKenzi Lewis
D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I started playing t-ball and soccer when I was 5. I really enjoyed t-ball, but never really got into soccer.
D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: My dad is really my biggest influence in life. He is the person who kept me playing softball, even in moments that I have wanted to quit.
D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: My favorite high school sports memory has to be my first game playing for Cambridge Springs. Every player on that team loved the game. They played like a team and had fun doing it. Every single game I play with them is always incredibly emotional. You never know who is going to be the hero of this team.
D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: Facebook is my favorite social media platform. I really don’t use social media, I believe it is a time-waster. But I use Facebook to see photos of my softball team mainly.
D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: I feel like they would be surprised by how many cats I have. My family has eight, and I love every single one of them.
D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: I would go back to the early 1900s to watch Honus Wagner play for the Pittsburgh Pirates. I feel like Honus is one of the best the game has seen, and I would definitely love to watch his skills at shortstop.
D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: Honestly, I would tell my kids that COVID was great. You didn’t have to sit near anyone at the movies!
D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: I would love to live in the country. Peace and quiet is what I crave. I currently live in the woods and have no plans for moving.
D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: I wish you would have asked me about which positions I play. I feel like it’s pretty important for anyone looking to know. By the way, I catch, and can also play third and first.
