Q&A With Luke Edwards

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: My first experience in sports was actually soccer. I always played up with older kids and on travel; teams across the country until 8th grade when I knew I wanted to focus on football.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: My biggest influence in my life has been my father because he is my role model a working man that always puts his family first.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: My favorite high school sports memory would have to be my sophomore year. We were playing Hickory at Hickory on their senior night and I intercepted a pass on the opening drive so it was pretty hype.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: I Am not a big social media guy but it would definitely have to be Twitter because it has helped with my recruitment a lot and can help you connect with more people than other platforms.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: Someone meeting me for the first time would be surprised at how much I love the game of football and the preparation it takes to be good. A lot of kids say this is their life and they grind but I actually obsess over it. I don’t do anything to jeopardize it.

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: That is a tough question but I would have to say the late 1800s like the old west because I’m a big fan of western movies.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: I will tell my kids that it was not all bad because it gave people a different perspective. For example, it allowed people to spend a lot of time with their families. For example, college students had to move back home and that might be the last time they live with their families full time.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: My ideal place would be to live in the country on some land to hunt, ride dirt bikes, stuff like that kinda like where I live now.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: Something I wish you would have asked was where do I see myself in 5 years? I would say that I want to use football to help pay for my education to get a degree and I just need a school that believes in me to give me that chance and that is what I am chasing.
