Q&A With Lexy DiFuccia

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I’ve always had a basketball in my hand since I was able to walk. As for volleyball, I was introduced to the game by my 7th grade Pre-Algebra teacher at Iroquois and was instantly in love with it. I’ve tried almost every sport during my childhood, but I have a passion for volleyball and basketball.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: I have a lot of big influences in my life. My mom always supports me through everything. My dad gives me so many pointers and always pushes me to be the best I can be. My grandpa records all of my stats, goes over film, and rebounds/works out with me in the rain, snow or humidity. Also, a lot of coaches, family, and friends have impacted me throughout the years and without them, I wouldn’t be the player or person I am today.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: Starting Varsity as a freshman after working so hard to earn that spot in both sports.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: Instagram is probably my favorite. I enjoy seeing what my favorite athletes are up to and finding out game times through them.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: In the spring, I coached Junior High Volleyball at Iroquois and loved it. I definitely want to do it more in the future!

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: I would like to meet my ancestors and find out more about them and where they came from.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: Although it was a very hard and confusing time for all, Covid shutdowns showed who was really dedicated to improving their game on their own.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: Country. Probably not living in the middle of nowhere, but have a large yard and woods.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: I’m looking forward to playing with my new teammates at Mercyhurst Prep and seeing what we can accomplish together!!
