Q&A With Kendall Young

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I got involved in sports when I first started playing tee-ball. I think at that age I liked it but didn’t have the passion for it as I do today.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: My parents have been my biggest influence in life because they always pushed me to be my best whether it be in sports or outside of them.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: My favorite high school sports memory is the bus rides to and from games. Those bus rides are times when we can really bond with one another and be ourselves. And I’m sure my coaches would agree with me on this one, our singing on those rides, is the best that they have ever heard.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: My favorite social media platform is Snapchat. It is my favorite because it is easiest to communicate with my friends and to keep in touch with people.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: They would be surprised to find out that my dream job is to become a nurse.

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: I would go back to the Renaissance time period. I would go back to there because a lot of the ideas and objects we use today were found or created during this time. I think it would be very neat to see how people came up with these things.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: I will tell them to never take anything for granted and always live life to the fullest because you never know when something like this will shut down the world again.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: My ideal place to live would be the suburb. I would want to live there because the city would be too crowded for me, but the suburb would still allow me access to the city when I wanted to go.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: I wish you would have asked what I did over the summer. I would have answered that I got to travel the country and play in many top tournaments both on the East and West coast. My team, Firecrackers Brashear- Gollihar, even won the USSSA West Coast National Championship. I also made many friendships that will last me a lifetime.
