Q&A With Frances Milliron

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I started playing basketball in kindergarten at the Brookville YMCA and softball for Clarion Little League in the 4th grade. Yes, I enjoyed playing sports back then and even more now.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: Definitely my family and coaches. My family, especially my mom, always shows up to support me at my games even if they are hours away and I am so grateful knowing I will always have their support. My Papa, Ron Walter, has dedicated many hours of his time to better me in both softball and basketball. I have also had the luxury of playing for my varsity basketball coach since elementary school. Both my Papa and Coach Simpson have always pushed me to be the best player that I can possibly be.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: The bus rides to and from basketball and softball games. We would always take a speaker and just sing songs the entire bus ride. I’m surprised the bus drivers would even drive us around after hearing us.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: Probably Tik Tok because my friends and I are always tagging each other in videos that remind us of each other.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: In my free time I enjoy riding and working on dirtbikes. I also play piano, guitar, and drums as well.

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: The Wild West because it is fascinating to me with its stories of the pioneers, cowboys, and outlaws trying to make a life out in the unknown of the West.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: To enjoy every moment of your life because you never know if you are going to have that opportunity again. So many people lost loved ones and athletes lost out on entire seasons. Lifelong memories were lost in both situations.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: The country because I like being secluded with not many people around and being able to just enjoy the outdoors right in my backyard.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: What is my favorite thing about sports? It would be the bonds and friendships that I have because of sports. I have met so many amazing people through my years of participating in sports whether they are coaches or players. Also the high and exhilaration I experience while playing is a feeling that nothing else can compare to.
